Telluride Ski Resort Joins the Epic Pass

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) and Telluride Ski & Golf jointly announced today that the Telluride Ski Resort will join the industry-leading Epic Pass in a long-term alliance beginning with 2018-19 winter season, bringing the total to 46 mountain resorts for skiers and snowboarders. Telluride has been rated the “#1 Ski Resort in North America” five of the last six years by readers of Condé Nast Traveler.

After months of remodeling, the new co-branded Colorado Ski & Sports and Bicycle Village store will celebrate its Grand Opening at 9170 Wadsworth Parkway in Westminster with activities for all ages. Festivities run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Vail Resorts Takes Next Step Toward Zero Footprint by Hiring Renewable Choice Energy

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced that the Company has engaged Boulder, Colo.-based Renewable Choice Energy (RCE), a Schneider Electric company, to help identify and implement renewable energy projects that the Company may purchase or fund as part of its comprehensive sustainability commitment. In hiring RCE, the Company is taking another important step in pursuing its “Epic Promise for a Zero Footprint,” which includes three ambitious sustainability goals: zero net emissions by 2030, zero waste to landfill by 2030, and zero net operating impact to forests and habitat.

Breckenridge Ski Resort and Keystone Resort Continue to Expand Terrain Heading into the Holidays

Both Breckenridge Ski Resort and Keystone Resort continue to expand terrain, as each resort has opened additional trails every week since Opening Day. Both resorts are offering top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding across multiple peaks prior to the holidays, and will be adding more terrain heading into this weekend. This morning, a brief burst of snow quickly brought two inches of snow to both resorts with additional snow in the forecast through the weekend.

Vail Resorts CEO’s New Charitable Fund to Focus on Mental Health Issues

Today, Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced that Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz and his wife, Elana Amsterdam, have decided that the initial focus for their recently announced charitable fund will be on mental health issues in the Company’s local communities. Katz and Amsterdam created the new charitable fund in October 2017 with funding of approximately $58 million.

The public celebration in Lionshead Village will include an ice skating show, live music and an ice carving exhibition. Beaver Creek Celebrates Grand Opening of Red Buffalo Park and Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5) on Friday, December 22

On Friday, December 22 at 9:15 a.m., Beaver Creek Resort will debut Red Buffalo Park, a family learning area located at the mountain’s highest elevation, 11,440 feet. At the heart of Red Buffalo Park, the new Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5), a high-speed quad, will debut to provide an increase in uphill capacity and a shorter, 4.3 minute ride to the top of the mountain. A Grand Opening celebration will commence at the base of Red Buffalo Express Lift (#5) on Friday at 9:15 a.m. with an official ribbon cutting, commemorative pins and Beaver Creek’s famed chocolate chip cookies. Beginning Friday, skiers and snowboarders will have access to 338 acres of terrain, including an additional 43 acres of terrain on Red Buffalo, Lower Booth Gardens, Lower Powell, and Grand Traverse trails in Red Buffalo Park.
