MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Nov. 13, 2018 – Ideal early season conditions, including consistent snowmaking operations and natural snow, have set the stage for an extraordinary beginning to the 2018-19 winter ski and snowboard season at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). The season ramps up with Donation Day on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, in advance of the resort’s official Opening Day on Thursday, Nov. 22.

“This has been one of our best early snowmaking seasons ever with cold temperatures and low humidity,” said Mark Voegeli, Assistant Mountain Manager at CBMR. “Our snowmaking crews have taken full advantage of the weather, and we are looking forward to one of Crested Butte’s best opening days in many years.”

On Donation Day, CBMR will offer skiing and riding on terrain accessible by the Red Lady Express and Peachtree Lift. Open trails will include beginner terrain such as Lower Keystone, Houston and Augusta, among others.

Beginning Thursday, Nov. 22, CBMR skiers and snowboarders will be able to enjoy approximately 130 acres of intermediate- and beginner-level terrain accessible by the Paradise Express, Red Lady Express and Peachtree Lift. Open trails will include Paradise Bowl, Forest Queen, Ruby Chief, trails accessible off of the Red Lady Express, Peachtree Lift and base area magic carpets.

In truly extraordinary measures, this will be the first season in more than 20 years that the Paradise Express will be open on Opening Day. This season marks the first time that CBMR has been able to open the Paradise Express on snowmaking alone, underscoring what a remarkable early season it has been.

Terrain park features will be available in the Keystone Jib Park for Donation Day and Opening Day.

The Crested Butte Ski and Ride School will be offering lessons for all ages throughout the season beginning on Donation Day, Nov. 21.
