TRUCKEE, Calif., March 6, 2025 – With a deep legacy of women in leadership and a growing demand for women’s programming, Northstar California Resort continues creating space for women to thrive in the mountains through leadership, progression, and community.
This season, Northstar introduces Women’s Spring Fling Clinics on March 9 and 23, offering women the opportunity to level up their skills, connect on the mountain, and close out the day with après in The Village. These new one-day events build on the success of the annual Women in Powder Weekend and Progression on Pedals bike clinics, reinforcing Northstar’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
From March 7-9, Northstar will also host the National Ski Patrol Women’s Toboggan Clinic, an annual gathering where women patrollers from across the West Coast refine their toboggan-handling skills, advance their technique, and strengthen a community rooted in leadership and support.
On March 14, Northstar welcomes EDGE Outdoors, a Black woman-led nonprofit dedicated to increasing the representation of Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color in skiing and snowboarding. This season, 75 women have received support through EDGE Outdoors, providing a combined 225 days of skiing and riding across Northstar, Heavenly, Stevens Pass, and Park City. These scholarships—covering lift tickets, group lessons, and gear rentals—help remove barriers, create community, and inspire the next generation of diverse leaders in the industry.
Northstar’s commitment to elevating women extends beyond events. With Tara Schoedinger stepping in as Vice President & General Manager, she continues the resort’s legacy as the fifth consecutive woman in this role—a testament to Northstar’s longstanding leadership in fostering women’s growth in the ski industry.
“I’m incredibly proud to be part of Northstar’s legacy of empowering women on the slopes, in leadership, and throughout our community,” said Tara Schoedinger, VP & GM of Northstar California. “Seeing women progress, support each other, celebrate the joy of the mountains, and push the sport forward is truly inspiring.”
As Women’s History Month unfolds, Northstar invites guests to join in the celebration—whether through learning, playing, or pushing personal limits. With year-round dedication to women’s leadership and progression, Northstar remains a place where all women can thrive in the mountains.
