Park City Mountain Scheduled to Open on Nov. 21: What's New This Season
•Park City Mountain, including both the Park City Mountain Village and and Canyons Village, is scheduled to open for the 2018-19 winter season on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
•The annual Opening Day Celebration will be held at the Park City Mountain Village.
•New this season, Park City Mountain will open High Meadow Park, a dedicated learning area designed exclusively for beginner skiers. Park City Mountain will also debut enhancements at Mid Mountain Lodge and Cloud Dine restaurants.

PARK CITY, Utah – Nov. 1, 2018 – Park City Mountain, the largest ski resort in the U.S., is scheduled to open for the 2018-19 season on Wednesday, Nov. 21. The lifts are scheduled to start spinning at both the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village at 9 a.m. This season, Park City Mountain will debut several new resort enhancements, including a new beginner learning area at High Meadow Park, a transformation of the iconic Mid-Mountain Lodge, an expansion of the popular Cloud Dine restaurant and additional snowmaking.

“Park City Mountain is scheduled to be one of the first ski resorts to open in Utah this winter and we have a lot in store for the upcoming season,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer at Park City Mountain. “The new High Meadow express lift and High Meadow Park learning area was designed exclusively for beginner skiers and snowboarders and will offer the perfect setting for our guests to learn. Additionally, the stunning transformation of Mid-Mountain Lodge and expansion of Cloud Dine will enhance the on-mountain dining experience for our guests. It’s going to be a great season.”

Opening day events are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Park City Mountain Village with live music, giveaways and complimentary hot chocolate and coffee. The first chair will leave at 9 a.m. on the Payday lift followed by a ceremonial banner-breaking. The entertainment will continue at 2:30 p.m. with a performance by the Alicia Stockman Band on the Payday deck.

At Canyons Village, the Cabriolet, Red Pine Gondola, Frostwood Gondola, Saddleback lift and new High Meadow Park learning area are also scheduled to open. Canyons Village will host a live performance by the Tony Oros Trio at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. Both Canyon Mountain Sports at Canyons Village and Legacy Sports at the Park City Mountain Village will be open for rentals.

This winter, Park City Mountain is encouraging skiers and snowboarders to Seize the Season and take advantage of early-season benefits. From opening day through the Christmas holiday, the resort will kick off the season with special events and a variety of offers including discounts on dining, lodging, spa treatments and rentals. NEW FOR THE 2018-19 WINTER SEASON:
 
High Meadow Park Beginner Learning Area
Slated to debut in the 2018-19 winter season, the new High Meadow Park at Canyons Village will offer guests a dedicated learning area designed exclusively for beginner skiers. The existing High Meadow four-passenger lift has been replaced with a high-speed, four-passenger lift, increasing uphill capacity with a ride time of only three minutes. Additional snowmaking added throughout the area will further ensure ideal snow surface conditions for learning. Three new adventure trails animated with carvings of local animals and wildlife have also been be added for guests to explore as they progress in skills. 
 
Mid-Mountain Lodge Transformation
Debuting in time for the 2018-19 season, Park City Mountain’s iconic Mid-Mountain Lodge has undergone an extensive transformation complete with a new full-service bar. Housed in a recently renovated 19th Century boarding house, Mid-Mountain Lodge now offers Park City's most discerning diners a fresh take on alpine dining. A thoughtful menu features flame broiled rotisserie meats, hearty grain bowls, comforting soups and over-the-top signature sandwiches, all perfectly paired with one of Utah’s only on-mountain, full-service cocktail bars. Add in a cozy deck framed with stunning views of the Uinta range, Mid-Mountain Lodge is redefining what it means to eat on the mountain. 
 
Cloud Dine Restaurant Expansion
New for the 2018-19 season, Cloud Dine, which was completely remodeled in 2014 as a modern, mountaintop bistro, will gain an additional 200 seats to increase guest capacity by more than 60 percent. Located on Dream Peak, this ski-in, ski-out restaurant offers guests amazing views of the Wasatch Range and an entirely new concept in on-mountain dining. Cloud Dine remains one of Park City Mountain’s most popular dining locations and the new addition will ensure that the guest’s dining experience at the location is elevated to match the superior quality and presentation of the food.         
 
Added Snowmaking
Park City Mountain has the most expansive snowmaking system in Utah ensuring world-class skiing conditions all season long. For 2018-19, new snowmaking will be added to High Meadow Park that will help maintain an ideal snow surface for beginner skiers and snowboarders. Snowmaking will also be added to Red Pine Road, a major intermediate connector trail off of Tombstone Lift.
 
2019 FIS World Championships
Park City, Utah, has a proud tradition of innovation and excellence in hosting international skiing and snowboarding events. This February 1-10, Park City will host the 2019 FIS World Championships in snowboard, freestyle and freeski. Park City Mountain is the official host venue for snowboard and ski halfpipe, slopestyle, big air and parallel giant slalom with venues at the Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village.

Silver to Slopes Historic Mining Tour
Unlock the secrets of the past and discover Park City’s rich mining, skiing and local history on the Silver to Slopes Historic Mining Tour. On this free, guided ski tour, you will explore the mountain with an expert guide and uncover the historic mining buildings and hidden relics scattered across the resort. Learn how Park City Mountain evolved from a silver mining camp to an internationally recognized winter sports destination and hear the stories behind the authentic mining structures you see on the mountain. Tours are recommended for intermediate level skiers/riders and above and depart daily from the Park City Mountain Village at 10 a.m. and at the Trail Map near the top of Bonanza lift at 1 p.m.  After the tour, you’ll receive a signature pin to commemorate your visit to Park City Mountain.
 
Variety in Dining
With more than 16 restaurants across 7,300 acres, each with their own imaginative, signature menus and executive chefs, Park City Mountain is elevating the mountain dining experience across the resort. Enjoy fine dining at the award-winning Farm Restaurant at Canyons Village which debuts seasonal menus that celebrate locally-sourced, sustainable cuisine. Check out the made-to-order Mediterranean station at Miners Camp, the newest addition to the mountain. Indulge in fresh, homemade donuts, made-to-order items, and unparalleled views at 9,200 feet at Cloud Dine. Or, reserve a table at Lookout Cabin and savor the views along with the Chef’s homemade cheese or chocolate fondue. Park City Mountain is making the holidays even more special for guests by hosting unforgettable signature events this Christmas, New Years and Spring Break. The Holiday Season kicks off on December 22 with Park City Mountain’s annual Snowfest Celebration, a 16-day festival including morning and après musical acts, village entertainers, the annual torchlight parade, fireworks and a special visit from Santa on Town Lift. Park City Mountain’s annual Spring Grüv Celebration will return just in time for Spring Break this March with 16 days of free concerts and the famous Pond Skimming Contest. Beyond the holidays, Park City Mountain hosts free concerts, family activities and events all season long at both base areas.
