BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Feb. 18, 2017 —The 12th Annual Hope on the Slopes event returns to Breckenridge Ski Resort, Saturday, Feb. 25, to provide skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to make a day of skiing or riding more meaningful by raising money and awareness for the American Cancer Society, the nation’s number one non-profit contributor of funds for cancer research.
Hope on the Slopes allows teams and individuals to compete for fantastic prizes from K2 skis and snowboards to GoPros by logging the most vertical feet over a period of six hours. Friends, family and colleagues are encouraged to form teams to make every run count towards the fight against cancer.
Participants should register online at www.hopeontheslopes.org, where they will also be eligible for discounted lift tickets and ski and snowboard equipment rentals. Once registered, participants will sign-in on Feb. 25 at 7 a.m. in the DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge hotel (continental breakfast included) and prepare to fight for the cure together. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. and the competition runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A fun-filled reception and closing ceremony follows the competition from 4 to 6 p.m. with awards, recognition, swag, raffle, silent auction, photos, snacks and a cash bar. Folks interested in helping but not able to attend the event can donate online on the Hope on the Slopes website.
