All four Vail Resorts Colorado resorts today recorded the largest 24- and 48-hour snowfall totals since the 2000-2001 season, sending January out with a bang. More than two feet of snow has fallen in just two days at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone offering the best ski and snowboarding conditions in North America. 48-Hour Snowfall Totals as of Friday, Jan. 31 + Skiable Acres Open:
·         Vail:26” of snow and 5,289 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 31 lifts.
·         Beaver Creek:28” of snow with 1,832 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 24 lifts.
·         Breckenridge: 32” of snow with 2,907 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 35 lifts.
·         Keystone:27” of snow with 3,058 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 19 lifts.
 
Events Not to Be Missed
Vail and Beaver Creek will celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 1. Beaver Creek’s “Countdown 2-15” activities will take place on the mountain to represent the 2015 racing component with 2015 bibs given to the first 215 people to arrive at the start of the new Raptor Women’s Downhill course, followed by a celebration at the new Talons Restaurant, complete with complimentary cocoa and cookies, podium photo opportunities and more. The festivities will later move to Vail’s Solaris Plaza, which will be renamed “Championships Plaza,” which will host all of the official medals presentations during the 2015 World Championships, along with free nightly concerts. Tomorrow’s celebration will include the official debut of the 2015 World Championships mascots, the starting of the World Championships Countdown Clock, a costume contest that will reward those people decked out in the most 1989 or 1999 World Championships gear, and a spectacular fireworks display. www.vailbeavercreek2015.com.
 
At Breckenridge Ski Resortto celebrate January’s snowfall and the Denver Broncos’ big game this Sunday, Breck officials are offering an exclusive first tracks opportunity for skiers and riders decked out in Broncos gear on Sunday, Feb. 2. Any guest clearly wearing orange and blue will be able to access the mountain at 7:30 a.m. – one hour before it opens to the general public via the Beaver Run SuperChair on Peak 9. This will be the only chair open for first tracks. Guests who wish cheer on the powder and Colorado’s home team must hold a valid Breck lift ticket or season pass to access the chairlift.
Savor the Slopes” returns to Keystone Resortfor a second year, featuring a month-long rotating showcase of the resort’s signature and highly awarded restaurants. Each night, throughout the month of February, guests will enjoy an evening event highlighting a range of culinary delights, wine pairings, cocktail tastings and frothy beers.
