Heavenly Mountain Resort Winter 2023/24 Tip Sheet

Heavenly Mountain Resort Winter 2023/24 Tip Sheet

Heavenly sits in two states, providing a one-of-a-kind skiing experience with its iconic, breathtaking views nestled within the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. Tahoe is Heavenly, and you’ll certainly feel it while skiing or riding the Sierras and absorbing views of Lake Tahoe’s deep blue, high alpine water. With nearly 5,000 acres of skiable terrain and 97 trails ranging from groomers to chutes, you won't get bored exploring the mountain’s wide breadth of terrain. Whether you are taking in the unbelievable panoramic views of Lake Tahoe on the California side, or seeing the Carson Valley extend for miles on the Nevada side, you are sure to have your breath taken away by both beauty and adventure.

Diverse Terrain: Terrain for all skiers can be found across the mountain at Heavenly. From world-class glades that will challenge more advanced skiers as they float through secret stashes, to intermediate groomers that can be carved with Lake Tahoe on the horizon, the terrain at Heavenly will satisfy your appetite, no matter what you like to ski or ride.

All Within Reach: The resort offers a wide range of experiences on-and-off the mountain, with Heavenly Village sitting in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, surrounded by snow-based activities, restaurants, and events throughout the winter season. If the views of Lake Tahoe inspire you on the slopes, a trip to the shore is just minutes away.

Epic Lift Upgrade: Heavenly's upgraded North Bowl Lift is open! Upgraded from a fixed-grip 3-person chair to a high-speed detachable 4-person chair last year, this upgrade reduces the combined ride time of the Boulder and North Bowl lifts. It also reduces wait times at the Stagecoach and Olympic lifts and provides better access to some seriously cool and underutilized terrain at our resort.

Food and Beverage: Skiing in two states can make you hungry! This year, our food and beverage locations will integrate select menu offerings and specialty plates. Indulge your tastebuds in some resort favorite food and drink options at any of the following locations:

California Main Lodge
Lakeview Lodge
Stein’s
Sky Deck
Tamarack Lodge
East Peak Lodge
Boulder Lodge
Stagecoach Lodge

Parking: Heavenly will be implementing a reservation-based paid parking program at California Base Area on weekends and peak periods. Stagecoach and Boulder lots will remain free seven days a week. For more information, visit the "Getting Here and Parking" page on our website.

EpicPromise Commitment to Zero: Heavenly will be piloting an aluminum bottle program to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles at Tamarack Lodge for the upcoming ski and ride season. All Pepsi products will transition from plastic bottles to aluminum bottles in an effort to reduce our environmental footprint.

Special Events

DJ Cat: You’ve likely never experienced anything like it! Party with your friends as rotating guest DJs play some of your favorite songs out of a snowcat on the mountain. Your dance moves always look better in ski boots!

Heavenly Holidays: Join us to celebrate the holidays in style! In December, our resort partners with Heavenly Village to create activities the whole family will love, including skiing with Santa, an ice sculpting contest, tree lighting, live music, and more!

Toyota Air and Après: Air and Après is a thrilling big-air event at the base of World Cup. We build a 45-foot jump where skilled athletes demonstrate gravity-defying stunts with our mountain as the canvas for a lightshow. This season, Air and Après is set to expand to a three-day event, tentatively set for March 1 –3, featuring a Village offering an array of vendors, food, and beverage.

Brews and Views: Brews and Views is an après experience overlooking unbeatable views of Lake Tahoe at Lakeview Lodge with food, beverage, and music. Soak in the Brews and Views once a month starting in December and keep an eye out for some breweries that may join in on the fun with tastings and offerings!

Spring Loaded Series: There is nothing quite like spring skiing at Heavenly, and we make the most of it. This event series includes Gunbarrel 25, where skiers lap Heavenly’s iconic mogul run 25 times in this long-standing tradition, plus a Pond Skim and Spring Fling Rail Jam. These competitions are designed to highlight the fun-loving, adventure-seeking vibe that epitomizes spring skiing in Tahoe.

Your Pass, now on your phone with the new My Epic app: New this season, the My Epic app with Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Tickets is now available to download, allowing guests to use their phone as their ticket to the slopes.

Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Tickets is a hands-free option for skiers and riders to use at all 36 of Vail Resorts’ owned and operated U.S. resorts for the 2023/24 season, with availability at Whistler Blackcomb to follow in future seasons. It allows guests to buy their pass or lift ticket online, activate it in the new My Epic app, put their phone in their pocket, and get scanned, hands free in the lift line using Bluetooth® technology designed for low energy usage to minimize the impact on a phone’s battery life. This season, to ensure a smooth transition, the company will continue to provide physical cards for passes and lift tickets to all guests. For guests choosing to use Mobile Pass this season, watch this video for some tips. The My Epic app also offers a range of guest-favorite features, including interactive trail maps with GPS location tracking, and mountain and resort alerts, including operational information like grooming updates, terrain status, snow reports and conditions.
