PARK CITY, Utah (December 4, 2025) – Another season of boundless opportunities for winter adventure begins at Park City Mountain on Friday, December 5, as the nation’s largest ski and snowboard resort opens for the 2025-26 winter season. Guests will discover exciting new enhancements across the mountain, highlighted by the debut of the all-new 10-person Sunrise Gondola at Canyons Village.

This multimillion-dollar investment in the guest experience will significantly increase uphill capacity from the Canyons Village base area, allowing skiers and riders to spend less time in line and more time exploring Park City Mountain’s 7,300+ acres of world-class terrain.

Young skiers and riders joining the resort’s Ski & Ride School will also be welcomed to Moose Camp, a brand-new beginner zone near the Red Pine Lodge. Purpose-built to ignite a lifelong passion for skiing and riding, the reimagined learning area features two magic carpets, including one that is brand new this season, and thoughtfully graded terrain designed to foster confidence, progression, and fun from our guests’ very first turns.

At Park City Mountain, every enhancement this season reflects a commitment to creating unique experiences where guests feel like they truly belong.

“Opening Day is always one of the highlights of the year for our team, our community, and our guests,” said Deirdra Walsh, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Park City Mountain. “This season, we are especially excited to welcome everyone back and share the continued evolution of Park City Mountain, from the brand-new Sunrise Gondola to the all-new Moose Camp beginner zone and more. These strategic upgrades show our continued commitment to creating boundless experiences that ignite a love for the mountain lifestyle we all cherish. Even with Mother Nature throwing an early season curveball, our whole team has done an incredible job, and we cannot wait to kick off another season together.”

Thanks to Park City Mountain’s state-of-the-art snowmaking system and the dedicated work of the resort's expert operations team, the mountain is ready and excited to welcome skiers and riders back to the slopes. On Opening Day, guests will have access to at least 195 acres of terrain across both Mountain Village and Canyons Village base areas.

  • Mountain Village Lift Access: Payday, First Time, Tommyknocker Conveyor | Opening Saturday, December 6: 3 Kings
  • Canyons Village Lift Access: Cabriolet, Sunrise Gondola, Red Pine Gondola, High Meadow, Saddleback

Guests are invited to join resort leaders for the Grand Opening of the brand-new Sunrise Gondola before it welcomes skiers and riders for the very first time. The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the gondola’s bottom terminal, and the gondola will officially open to the public at 9:00 a.m.

Opening Day celebrations will take place at both base areas, featuring DJs, complimentary breakfast treats, and a festive mountain atmosphere to kick off the 2025-26 winter season.

New This Season

In addition to the debut of the Sunrise Gondola and the new Moose Camp beginner zone, Park City Mountain continues to invest in projects that elevate the guest experience both on and off the slopes. At Moose Camp, a brand-new kids’ lunchroom is seamlessly integrated into the learning zone, creating a smooth transition between the comforts of the lodge and the excitement of the slopes. The space features a fun, energetic design that ensures lasting memories for young skiers and riders as they warm up, enjoy lunch, and head back out for more time on snow. This season also brings key improvements to the resort’s state-of-the-art snowmaking system, with more than 2,000 feet of snowmaking pipe replaced or added across the mountain, adding to transformative investments on runs like Chicane and Another World.

The resort’s historic Summit House Lodge has been refreshed by celebrity designer and HGTV personality Jasmine Roth, blending the charm of Park City’s original lodge with a refreshed mountain modern style that reflects the energy of the resort today. Guests will also enjoy the return of Orange Bubble Bites, complimentary orange, rosemary, and honey glazed donut bites served daily at 3:00 p.m. in the Canyons Village Forum, a sweet tradition designed to surprise and delight guests. These enhancements underscore Park City Mountain’s commitment to thoughtful and strategic investments into the guest experience.

Signature Events

Park City Mountain is the best place to experience events that light up the mountain and bring the community together all season long. This year our signature events kicked off before the mountain opened to skiers and riders with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration at Canyons Village on November 28th.  But the festivities are far from over as Holiday favorites continue with Santa’s annual trip down Town Lift on December 20, the Canyons Village Torchlight Parade on December 24, and a fireworks celebration on New Year’s Eve.

The excitement continues into the new year with Winter Pride on February 28, Women’s Weekend on March 7–8, and the Peaks & Beats Music Festival on March 27–28, bringing live music and après excitement to Canyons Village. New this year, the resort will celebrate its passholders and their importance to the mountain with a Passholder Appreciation Party on January 30th. The season wraps up with Park City’s most anticipated spring tradition, the Pond Skim. On April 11, contestants will skim or splash across the Eagle Super Pond to cheering crowds. Full event details are available on our Events webpage.

Mountain Dining

Park City Mountain offers unique dining experiences at eight on-mountain and seven base-area restaurants, with flavors and atmospheres to match every kind of ski day. Guests can enjoy a new Indian inspired food station at Legacy Cafe, homemade Bison Sheperd’s Pie at Miners Camp, or mouthwatering slow-cooked barbeque at Tombstone Grill. Park City Mountain is committed to a dining scene as vast as its terrain.

For après, unwind slopeside at Red Tail Grill, soak up the sun at the Canyons Village Ski Beach, or join the lively scene at the Umbrella Bar in The Forum. The popular Après at the Airstream also returns this season with DJs, outdoor firepits, and mountain-side fun on select weekends throughout the winter.

Arrival and Parking

This season, Park City Mountain is excited to welcome guests to use the first two levels of the new Canyons Lower Village Garage. Parking will remain free this season throughout Canyons Village, with the exception of Lot 4, which offers paid parking until 12:00 p.m. for vehicles with fewer than four occupants.

At Mountain Village, parking will continue its successful reservation system for both paid parking and free carpool parking options. Reservations guarantee a spot before 12:00 p.m., an hour earlier than last season. This change was made in response to community feedback and is designed to make accessing the mountain easier and more convenient.
