Keystone Resort Offers Holiday Deals and Activities for the Whole Family

KEYSTONE, Colo. – November 25, 2008 – Keystone Resort is offering an incredible line-up of holiday events and activities designed to give families the opportunity to spend quality time together. Keystone also has deals to help make a ski vacation a reality this holiday season. Keystone is currently offering a 20 percent discount on lodging throughout the resort with its Gondola Grand Opening Sale through December 18, 2008.

Santa, Carolers and Parades
Keystone buzzes with family activities over the holidays. Featured events include a visit from Santa in River Run December 21, 22 & 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a torchlight parade and fireworks that light up the mountain on New Year’s Eve. Also, Lakeside Village will be alive with holiday music as the voices of joyous carolers bring smiles to all. Catch the carolers from 3 to 5 p.m. on December 18, 19, 23, 26 and 27.
 
Mouthwatering Chocolate Village- Made from an awe-inspiring 2,500 lbs. of Chocolate!
Every holiday season, Keystone chef Ned Archibald sculpts 2,500 pounds of chocolate into a miniature alpine village complete with a massive chocolate mountain, a working chocolate gondola, a cascading chocolate waterfall and a 6-foot white chocolate Christmas tree with hand-blown sugar ornaments. This year’s mouth-watering creation will be unveiled December 19 in the lobby of the Keystone Lodge & Spa, A RockResort hotel and will stay throughout the holidays.
 
In Room Christmas Trees
This year, Keystone is almost like home as guests will be able to purchase five to six-foot Christmas trees to be placed in their rooms for the holidays. Guests can even order a box of ornaments for a night of family tree decorating so as not to miss out on trimming the tree and that classic pine scent. Trees are sold for $50 and boxes of ornaments are sold for an additional $50.

Keystone Resort offers a free Adventure Passport for all guests staying at Keystone Resort properties. The Adventure Passport provides families with an array of free and discounted activities to help them experience the Rocky Mountains. The Adventure Passport includes a free intro to snowbiking, free ice skating, discounted snowshoe tours, free yoga classes, discounted wine tastings and more.
 
Largest Night Ski Operations in Colorado—Ski all day and into the night!
Keystone Resort offers guests the option to ski under the lights into the night, eliminating the need to drag little skiers and riders from the mountain come four o’clock. Daytime lift tickets are valid until 8:30 p.m. Keystone’s trails are groomed for the evening so guests can ski fresh corduroy until it’s bedtime.

Ski School- Mom, Dad and Me Program
Keystone offers a truly unique hour-and-a-half afternoon parent/teacher conference-type of class for the kids and parents or grandparents every day. The instructor who's been working with the child all day summarizes the lesson and counsels the parents on how to continue teaching their youngster. The parents also get tips on skiing or riding. It's the perfect way to ensure the whole family is on the right path to learning.
 
Adventure Point—Tubing in style

Ice-skating at Lakeside Village
Centrally located in the heart of Lakeside Village, Keystone Lake boasts the largest Zamboni-maintained outdoor skating rink in North America. Guests can join a pick-up hockey game or glide around the ice with family. Complete with holiday lights and festive music, this picturesque setting is one of the best spots to snap that perfect family photo. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting, with an admittance fee of $7 for children and $11 for adults. Skate rentals are also available.
