Beaver Creek, Colo., Dec. 27, 2011 – Adventurists can enjoy a scavenger hunt of epic proportions with Beaver Creek’s EpicMix Scavenger Hunt event on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012. This one-of-a-kind mountain event combines elements of a traditional scavenger hunt with the power of EpicMix and EpicMix Photo to provide a fun and interactive ski and ride experience for guests.
Anyone with an activated EpicMix account can participate in the EpicMix Scavenger Hunt. Solo participants or groups from three up to five people will explore the mountain to solve riddles in scattered locations and unlock exclusive EpicMix virtual pins. Paper tickets or Epic Day pass holders can participate by either picking up a hard media card at the ticket window (for paper tickets) or by going online in advance to EpicMix.com and activating their account.
Points will be earned with each pin collected, with many pins utilizing EpicMix Photo in a fun, new way. Two pins exclusive to the event will be the Aloha and Puzzle Pins. Participants can earn the Aloha by putting on a Hawaiian costume and getting their picture taken in a yet to be disclosed part of the mountain. The Puzzle can be earned by participants solving a challenging, but fun puzzle located at the “puzzle station” on another unnamed part of the mountain.
Each participant in the Hunt will receive free event giveaways and will be entered into the raffle for the chance to win great prizes at the après party from 3-5 p.m.
The main event will begin at the mountain’s opening at 8:30 a.m. through 2 p.m. Registration is $10 for a solo entry and $30 for a group entry of three to five people.
