Share:

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. – August 18, 2021 – Celebrate Oktoberfest with three days of food, drinks and fun over Labor Day weekend in Beaver Creek. The festivities begin on Friday, Sept. 3 with a traditional keg tapping ceremony at 4:00 p.m. to open the biergarten followed by live music from Rick Borger & The Average German Band.

Saturday’s activities begin at 11 a.m. with the biergarten and food vendors, as well as live music by The Polka Mates and The Helmut Fricker Band throughout the day. This year’s musical headliners are HeartByrne: A Talking Heads Tribute on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and EagleMania: The World’s Greatest Eagles Tribute on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Young guests can enjoy the Kids’ Zone, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday with arts, crafts and activities. The Kids’ Zone will be located one level above the plaza, near the Ticket Office. The Haus of Games will have Hammerschlagen and other activities for adults, one level above the plaza near the fountain.

Try your hand at the Stein Hoisting Competition at 6:00 p.m. on Friday or at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Don your dirndl and lederhosen for the Best Dressed Competition at 5:45 p.m. on Friday or at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Register for all contests at the Guest Service pergola inside the entrance to the plaza rink – spaces are limited so make sure to sign up early.

The festival continues on Sunday with more food, beer and live music from The Helmut Fricker Band and Rocky Mountain Dutch Hop Boys before the biergarten closes, wrapping up the festivities at 6:00 p.m.

Featured Beer Offerings

  • Tucher Festbier (Nuremberg, Germany) 5% ABV – Brewed to celebrate Oktoberfest, the Tucher Festbier is a lager brewed with full hop expression in classic Bavarian fashion.
  • Reissdorf Kölsch (Koln, Germany) 4.8% ABV – The town of Koln is famous for their Kölschbier production. Lighter than a pilsner, this Kölsch has a firm hop character and dry finish, making the perfect session beer.
  • Stiegl Goldbrau (Salzburg, Austria) 5% ABV – Stiegl Goldbräu is Salzburg’s ‘liquid gold.’ It is a full-bodied beer with a golden-yellow color and gentle bitterness. Brewed using indigenous ingredients for a wonderfully refreshing and very agreeable taste.
  • Wibby Helles Lager (Longmont, Colorado) 5.5% ABV – This light, golden, Bavarian-influenced lager won a grand gold medal at the Frankfurt International in 2018. Few, if any other, American breweries have done the same, a testament to this rounded lager and its spicy German hop character.
  • Tivoli Hefeweizen (Denver, Colorado) 5% ABV – From the original German-style brewers of Colorado, this German wheat is slightly hazy golden orange, with a white lacy head. A traditional hefeweizen with aroma of sweet spices, low bitterness, and a clean finish.
  • Ettal Dunkel (Ettal, Germany) 5% ABV – The original Oktoberfest beer style, Klosterbrauerei Ettal is one of the very last remaining authentic German monastic breweries still managed by monks of the abbey. This dunkel features balanced flavors of chocolate, bread crust, and caramel.

Common Consumption Area
Oktoberfest beverages may be consumed throughout Beaver Creek Village’s Common Consumption Area. Restaurants normally servicing the Common Consumption Area will not be serving to-go beer, wine, or liquor during the festival weekend.

Hawkers
Hawkers will be selling Eggenberg Pink Grapefruit Radlers and Stiegl Lemon Zitrone Radlers throughout the festival, so guests can grab a cold beverage without missing any of the action. As an added convenience, bars will accept Apple Pay and Google Pay in addition to cash and credit cards.

Dog-friendly Areas
During summer festivals at Beaver Creek, leashed dogs are permitted in designated dog-friendly areas, outside of festival boundaries. Dog-friendly areas include Creekside Park, on-mountain hiking trails, and the Recreation Path along Village Road. Dogs will not be permitted on the plaza rink.
