What to Expect at Breckenridge Ski Resort for the 2026-27 Winter Season 

Breckenridge has always been a place for those who think bigger, go farther and chase what's next. Spanning five towering peaks, nearly 3,000 acres of terrain, and including the highest chairlift in North America, The Kingdom of Breck delivers an experience that lives up to its storied reputation. From descents off the Imperial Express straight into Main Street, to its iconic après scene, every day at Breckenridge Ski Resort is an invitation for more. 

What's New for Winter 2026-27? 

This winter, Breck invites guests to join The Kingdom of Breck, a fresh identity for the resort inspired by one of the town's most enduring stories. In 1936, after Breckenridge was mistakenly left off a U.S. map, locals embraced their fiercely independent spirit and declared themselves citizens of the "Kingdom of Breckenridge." Nearly 90 years later, that same rebellious spirit and playful identity still defines this place.  

The Kingdom of Breck celebrates the bold, unapologetic character woven into Breck's culture where world-class high-alpine terrain meets a vibrant, welcoming mountain community. Historic Main Street, après on-mountain and in town, and wacky and wild events like Ullr Fest all culminate a high-energy experience that’s distinctly Breck. The Kingdom of Breck celebrates the pioneering spirit that led Breck to embrace snowboarding in its earliest days, to push the limits in the high alpine with the highest chairlift in North America, and the skiers and riders that make their own rules live on today. The Kingdom welcomes those who seek big days, big memories, and that signature Big Breck Energy. 

  

How does the Kingdom come to life this winter?  

  • A celebration of Breckenridge's storied history, with a Founders Day celebration honoring the people who created Breck and those who continue its legacy.   

  • Live music taking center stage, from live DJs every Friday and Saturday at the famed T-Bar on Peak 8 and the new ski-in, ski-out series, Après at the Overlook. 

  • Fun and funky mountain dining upgrades like T-Bar's Ullr Time Mega Shotski and Ski Hill Grill’s Instagrammable Hot Dog Towers. 

  • Competitions on a Big Breck scale bringing massive energy for athletes and spectators alike.  

  • Must have merchandise inspired by The Kingdom. 

  • The installation of North America's highest remote avalanche control system, which will help the resort open its one-of-a-kind high alpine terrain quickly and safely.

So, what is there to do in Breckenridge?  

Bigger, Better, Breck: A Three-Day, Two-Night Kingdom of Breck Itinerary 

For guests seeking the best Breckenridge getaway, this three-day, two-night itinerary hits the highlights from the Five Peaks to Main Street.  

Day 1: Welcome to The Kingdom 

Morning 

  • Arrive in Breckenridge (consider going car-free with great options like Epic Mountain Express, Snowstang, and Breck Free Ride) and check into Gravity Haus, the perfect basecamp for both walking to town and walking straight to the slopes with heated sidewalks on the way to the Quicksilver Chair on Peak 9. 

  • Pick up equipment from Epic Mountain Rentals on Peak 9 and take advantage of the property's direct lift access. 

Afternoon 

  • Beginners should warm up with panoramic groomers off the Quicksilver SuperChair if you’re a beginner, while intermediates can cruise Mercury SuperChair laps on favorites like Bonanza and Gold King. 

  • Get the lay of the land by taking the Peak 8 SuperConnect to explore Peak 8 including Breck’s signature terrain park on Freeway.  

  • Ride the Independence SuperChair and explore Peak 7's wide-open intermediate terrain. 

  • Stop for lunch at Sevens Restaurant, a Breckenridge favorite located slopeside at Peak 7. 

Evening 

  • Return to town for après along Main Street. The Chalet has classy, speak-easy charm while the Breckenridge Distillery offers elevated cocktails with housemade spirits. 

  • Stroll around the historic Main Street Breckenridge and browse local shops, galleries and breweries. Walk to the south end of town to visit Isak Heartstone, Breck’s resident troll.  

  • Dinner at Rootstalk, James Beard Award-Winning Chef Matt Vawter's acclaimed restaurant showcasing refined Rocky Mountain cuisine. 

  • End the evening with a soak in Gravity Haus' zen onsen. 

Day 2: High-Alpine Adventure 

Morning 

  • Experience Breck’s robust coffee shop culture with a short walk to stop in at aptly named The Crown, Cool River Coffeehouse, Clint’s, or any of Breck’s independent coffee roasters – you can’t go wrong. 

  • Hop on the free bus or BreckConnect Gondola directly to Peak 7 and explore the lower mountain cruisers on the Indepedence SuperChair. 

  • Make your way towards the high-alpine by heading north to Peak 6 and Kensho Superchair. Enjoy the views above treeline and warm up your off-piste legs with blue bowl skiing.  

Afternoon 

  • Lunch at Pioneer Crossing, perched at the top of the Independence SuperChair on Peak 7 with panoramic views of town below. 

  • Work your way to Peak 8 and the Imperial Express SuperChair, North America's highest chairlift at nearly 13,000 feet. From here, endless opportunities abound from expert hike-to terrain in the Lake Chutes to Breck’s favorite wide-open zone: Whale’s Tail. 

  • Lap the high alpine via Breck’s signature T-Bar for a few laps in Horseshoe Bowl to your heart’s (or knee’s!) content. Intermediate guests can enjoy scenic laps and fun rollers on Peaks 6, 7 and 8, featuring some of Colorado's most expansive groomed terrain. 

  • Ski down to Peak 8 and Breckenridge’s signature après hot-spot: TBar (not to be confused with the lift – hitting both TBars in one day is a core Breck experience!). 

  • Fridays are lit with the UllrTime MegaShotSki and live DJs to cap off an excellent day. 

Evening 

  • Experience Breckenridge's vibrant nightlife scene with bars like RMU, Ollie’s, and Broken Compass often offering live music. 

Day 3: One Last Lap Through The Kingdom 

Morning 

  • Grab coffee and breakfast at Gravity Haus’ Cabin Juice before a final morning on the mountain. 

  • Explore Peak 10's classic cruisers for fun and fast laps on Cimmaron or Doublejack amongst its long fall-line groomers perfect for a last-day session. 

  • Take a commemorative photo atop Peak 8 with views stretching across Summit County and the Front Range. 

Afternoon 

  • Lunch at Tenmile Station for impeccable BBQ before heading down to depart. 

  • Head home with a deeper appreciation for the independent spirit, mountain culture and unforgettable terrain that define The Kingdom of Breck. But don’t fret – we know you’ll be back.
