Park City Mountain Announces Opening Date and Operating Plan for Winter 2022-23 Season

PARK CITY, Utah – Aug. 22, 2022 – Park City Mountain is excited to announce its scheduled opening date for the 2022-23 winter season will be Friday, Nov. 18, at both Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village. The resort has exciting mountain enhancements and activations on tap, with new dining and après experiences at Canyons Village, and family events throughout the season. 

New this year, daily lift ticket sales will be limited throughout the 2022-23 season to prioritize the mountain experience for guests. Guests can also expect more normal indoor operations this season as no face coverings, vaccines or dining reservations will be required.  
 
With more than 300 runs, 43 lifts, 6 terrain parks and dedicated learning areas, there are options for skiers and snowboarders of all levels at Park City Mountain. As the largest ski resort in the United States, guests can ski or snowboard directly from Park City’s world-class slopes to vibrant Park City Main Street, or explore new dining options and ski-in ski-out lodging at Canyons Village.  
 
New this winter will be enhancements to the dining and après ski experience at Canyons Village. Enjoy lunch, dinner or après on the brand-new outdoor patio at Red Tail Grill. Located near Orange Bubble Express and Red Pine Gondola, the new snow-melt patio will be the perfect spot to connect with friends after a day on the slopes. With seating for 100, Red Tail Grill’s patio features a variety of seating options from traditional patio tables to soft seating around fire pits, a large hearth fire and bar-style seating. 
 
Canyons Village will debut a new ski beach this winter stretching from the Red Pine Gondola to the Orange Bubble Express. The new beach area will feature heated pavers, fire pits and soft seating areas, and will facilitate access from the slopes to the Canyons Village forum. 
 
Park City’s Ski and Ride School’s popular All-Terrain Program will return for the 2022-23 season. Introduced in the 2021-22 season, the All-Terrain Program for youth ages 7-14 focuses on experiences and challenges on the hill that create a fun learning environment for participants and showcases the countless skiing and riding opportunities at Park City Mountain. 
 
Park City Mountain and Vail Resorts are committed to enhancing the guest and employee experience by increasing employee pay and investing in affordable employee housing and other employee benefits and perks.?This winter the new Slopeside Village at Canyons Village will provide 441 beds for Park City Mountain employees. Our employees are the backbone of our resort, and we are thrilled to be able to provide an affordable housing opportunity with easy access to work, transit and all Park City has to offer. 
 
Parking at Park City Mountain Village 
In an effort to decrease congestion in the Park City Mountain Village base area and enhance the guest experience, Park City Mountain will be implementing a parking reservation system this winter at Park City Mountain Village. Further details including carpool incentives, effective dates and hours, and parking rates can be found on the Park City Mountain websiteParking will remain free in the Cabriolet Lot at Canyons Village, Park City High School (on weekends and holidays) and High Valley Transit Park-n-Ride locations. 
 
Safety Protocols
Park City Mountain will not require face coverings, vaccines or dining reservations this coming season. With safety as its top priority, the resort will continue to monitor the changing dynamics of the pandemic, but at this time does not plan to have any of these measures in place. Employees will continue to complete daily health screenings and resorts will still apply enhanced cleaning practices.  
 
Lift Ticket Limitations 
Guests planning to visit this winter – whether one day or every day – are encouraged to purchase their lift access in advance – whether it is a lift ticket, Epic Day Pass or season pass. Lift tickets will be limited every day during the 2022-23 season in order to prioritize the guest experience. Availability of lift tickets will be visible on the resort website in the coming weeks. If tickets are sold out online, guests will not be able to purchase them at ticket windows.  
 
Passes, including Epic Day Passes, and Pass Holder benefit tickets will not be limited. There is also no impact to guests who enroll in ski and ride school lessons that include lift access, or to employee and dependent pass access. 
 
Winter Lodging Sale 
For a limited time, travelers who book their winter trips in advance will receive discounted rates on lodging. From Aug. 30-Sept. 6, Vail Resorts’ Winter Getaway Sale will feature the best winter lodging rates across its portfolio of premier mountain destinations in North America. Epic Pass holders can take advantage of the deal sooner with early access to the sale starting Aug. 25. Plus, Epic Pass holders receive an additional 20% off lodging rates with Epic Mountain Rewards.
