Breckenridge Ski Resort Launches Epic Discovery Summer Operations on Friday, June 18

Breckenridge Ski Resort kicks off the summer season with the return of Epic Discovery and the opening of the BreckConnect Gondola on Friday, June 18, offering scenic, family-friendly and thrill-seeking outdoor activities. This weekend summer on-mountain adventures start at Peak 8 Base Camp, with all open activities accessible via the free BreckConnect Gondola from town.  

Starting Friday, June 18, the following activities are set to open at Peak 8 Base Camp: 

  • -Alpine Slide 

  • -Gold Runner Coaster 

  • -Mini Golf 

  • -Bungee Trampolines 

  • -Gemstone Panning 

  • -Lil’ Flyer Zipline 

  • -Lil’ Climber Ropes Course 

  • -Lil’ Nugget Tubing 

With on-going mountain preparations for summer, more activities are anticipated to open ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, including scenic rides and bike hauls on the Colorado SuperChair, and activities at Alpine Camp including the Gold Summit Climbing Wall and the Alpineer Challenge Course. Due to construction of the new chairlift on Peak 7, the Expedition Zipline Tour will not be available this summer. 

Breck’s Epic Discovery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, June 18 through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, with an additional weekend of activities offered Friday-Sunday, Sept. 10-12.  

In a partnership with The Nature Conservancy, 1% of all Epic Discovery ticket sales help to fund the organization’s local forest and habitat restoration projects.

Classic Thrills and Fun for All Ages at Peak 8 Base Camp  

Offering a variety of summer activities, including classic favorites like the Alpine Slide and Gold Runner Coaster, Peak 8 Basecamp is the first stop on everyone’s Epic Discovery journey. Peak 8 Basecamp offers plenty of summer fun for the young and young at heart. Race down the mountain on the Gold Runner Coaster or Alpine Slides, challenge friends and family to a game of putt-putt with an 18-hole mini golf course and much more with a variety of adventures for all ages.  

 High Alpine Adventure Awaits at Epic Discovery’s Alpine Camp 

Anticipated to open ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Alpine Camp at Epic Discovery is located just steps from the top of the Colorado SuperChair offering breathtaking views and the opportunity for high alpine adventure at 11,000 feet above sea-level. The heart of Epic Discovery’s newest activities, Alpine Camp features the Alpineer Challenge Course, Gold Summit Climbing Wall, Interpretive Hiking Loop and the Vista Point Overlook Tower. 

Scenic Summer Access Benefits with the Epic Pass 

Ready for summer in the mountains? Purchasing a 2021-22 premium Epic Pass product, such as the Epic or Epic Local Pass, includes unlimited summer scenic access to Vail Resorts owned and operated resorts. Plus, now 2021-22 pass holders can reap the winter Epic Mountain Rewards all summer long including 20% off bike rentals, on-mountain dining and more. This is all in addition to a bold price reset for Epic Pass products this year, with the Epic Local Pass currently available for $583 (down from $729 last season) and the full Epic Pass at $783 (down from $979 last season).
