PARK CITY, Utah – Nov. 12, 2019 – Park City Mountain is ready to celebrate the beginning of another winter season. The resort is scheduled to open on Friday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m., in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. New this season, Park City Mountain will debut several on-mountain enhancements including a new lift and a new restaurant as the resort continues to invest in the guest experience.
Opening Day celebrations are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in the Park City Mountain Village with live music, giveaways and complimentary donuts and hot chocolate. The traditional first chair will leave at 9 a.m. on the Payday lift followed by a ceremonial banner-breaking. Canyons Village is scheduled to open on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 9 a.m.
Following Opening Day, Park City Mountain will celebrate the start of the holiday season with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Canyons Village on Friday, Nov. 29. Guests are invited to come for holiday crafts and complimentary hot cocoa with endless toppings before the Holiday Tree lights up the village at 5:15 p.m. Santa will be available for photos and a fireworks display will light up the night sky to celebrate the start to the best time of the year!
Finally, insiders know that the best way to ski Park City Mountain is to plan ahead and there is still time to purchase an Epic Pass, or Epic Day Pass for the 2019-20 season before the Sunday, Nov. 24 deadline. Epic Pass options provide skiers and riders with incredible flexibility and unmatched value, whether they want to ski or ride just one day – or every day – of the season. Notably, with the introduction of the Epic Day Pass, a customizable pass for skiers and riders who may not need the unlimited access offered by traditional season passes, skiing and riding is more accessible and affordable than ever, with discounts up to 50% as compared to lift ticket window prices.

NEW: Tombstone BBQ
Serving mouthwatering house-smoked meats, homemade sauces and ice cold beer, Tombstone BBQ has long been a favorite dining tradition on Park City Mountain. That tradition gets a whole new chapter for the 2019-20 season, with the addition of a permanent restaurant on the site of the old food truck and BBQ shed. The signature space includes heated indoor seating for up to 50 guests, ample indoor restrooms, a draft beer bar, a wood-fired BBQ pit and a full kitchen serving up all the Tombstone classics. Outdoor picnic tables will continue to offer guests a relaxed, al fresco dining experience with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, while the new indoor structure will provide a cozy escape from the elements on chilly days. In pursuit of Vail Resort’s commitment to zero, disposable plates and cups will also be replaced with environmentally-friendly reusable service ware. Guests looking for a relaxed and fun atmosphere, great music and killer BBQ will find it on the mountain at Tombstone BBQ.
NEW: Over and Out Lift
Park City Mountain will install a new lift in time for the 2019-20 season. The fixed grip quad chairlift, named “Over and Out,” will transport guests from a location near the bottom of the Tombstone Express Lift and unload near the top of Sunrise Lift on the front side of the mountain. As the name suggests, this lift will provide a quicker, more direct route for skiers and riders to access Canyons Village from the center of the resort.
NEW: First Time Park
Park City Mountain is transforming the beginner skier experience at the Park City Mountain Village with the new First Time Park. Similar to High Meadow Park, First Time Park will offer skiers and snowboarders a dedicated learning area in the Park City Mountain Village. The area will feature enclosed surface conveyors and beginner terrain for Ski & Snowboard School participants as well as convenient access to the First Time Lift for easy progression.
Upcoming Events: Snowfest
