Keystone, Colo. — Jan. 9, 2019 — Keystone Resort gets a bit sweeter with the second annual Kidtopia Culinary Festival, Feb. 8-15, 2019. Hands-on events like family cooking classes and food challenges means that playing with your food will be encouraged. Celebrity chef’s Nicholas Hornbostel and Cricket Azima will make special appearances as Keystone hosts a savory lineup tailored to the youngest of foodies.
The entire family can play together while decorating unicorn themed desserts, making snacks such as cheese-stick snowmen and edible gold medals to bring skiing and snowboarding, and participating in fun food challenges where imagination is the key ingredient. Hornbostel, who has been featured on the Food Network, will lead interactive cooking demonstrations where he’ll share insider tips and his recipe for a bison slider and a snowman snow cone. Azima, founder of The Creative Kitchen and Kids Food Fest, specializes in cooking for and with children and will host cooking classes where tasty dishes such as waffle towers, chip soup and veggie sushi will be made. A full lineup of events can be found at KeystoneResort.com.
Keystone, which has received more than 7 feet of snow this winter, is a family playground where kids of all ages can discover the magic of playing in the mountains. Located in Summit County, Colo. and just 75 miles west of Denver, the resort boasts more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain including three incredible peaks, five above-tree-line bowls, night skiing and an in-bounds cat skiing program.
Rates begin at $139 a night with lodging options spanning from affordable hotel rooms to family-sized condominiums. Keystone’s long-standing Kids Ski Free offer has been providing kids with free lift tickets since 2012. Kids 12 and younger receive free lift tickets for the duration of their visit, no blackout dates, with any stay of two or more nights booked through Keystone.
Following the Kidtopia Culinary Festival, Keystone will host the Kidtopia Music Experience in early spring. From March 1-10, the spring skiing and snowboarding season is given a music-themed introduction with live outdoor music performances by popular family-friendly acts the 6 Million Dollar Band and Koo Koo Kanga Roo. Returning to Keystone, Koo Koo Kanga Roo and their catchy lyrics will headline the Snow Pants Dance Party on March 9.
