VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 28, 2018 – Following 13 inches of snow in the past seven days and with more in the forecast as the New Year approaches, Vail Mountain is now 100 percent open. All lifts at Vail Mountain are operational for the season, providing access to 5,289 skiable acres of terrain, the most currently open in Colorado.
“It has been a legendary start to the season, with the second-earliest opening for Blue Sky Basin in history, to offering all 5,289 skiable acres before the New Year,” said Doug Lovell, Vail chief operating officer. “With excellent early season snow conditions, this has been the strongest start to the season in decades, thanks to the hard work of our mountain operations teams and a little help from Mother Nature.”
Vail is currently celebrating Vail Holidays, and will ring in the New Year with the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Ski Down and fireworks on Dec. 31. For more details, visit here.
