Beaver Creek, Colo., July 18, 2017 — The much anticipated wine, spirit and culinary event of the summer, the 11th Annual Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival presented by Wine Spectator, returns Aug. 10-13, nestled in the raw beauty of the Rocky Mountains of Beaver Creek, Colorado. This event incorporates culinary excellence with Beaver Creek’s longstanding traditions, outdoor adventures, health and wellness.
Each event has a specialized theme and a location that pairs perfectly. The weekend starts off on Thursday evening with a special kick-off event, Whiskey Wranglers at the Beaver Creek Rodeo – a whiskey tasting with a touch of the wild, wild, west. Friday’s festivities begin with Mountaintop Fitness Classes and Breakfast at Spruce Saddle. An invigorating outdoor spin, yoga, and pilates session is followed by gourmet continental breakfast. The Friday Afternoon Club Social offers a casual alpine summer setting with live music and wine tasting at the Plaza Pavilion in Beaver Creek Village. Cap off the evening with Paired with Patron: A Cigar Tasting Event at the Smoking Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch. Join Chef Joly of Mirabelle Restaurant for a new Farm-to-Table Dinner, with ingredients sourced from within 150 miles.
Embark on the Hike & Lunch: Guided Gourmet Experience on Saturday for a memorable hike on Beaver Creek Mountain through aspen groves and meadows of wildflowers all above Beaver Creek Village guided by experts from Beaver Creek’s Hiking Center and culminating with an outdoor, wine-paired lunch at the lush Creekside Park.
The weekend’s star event, Saturday’s 11th Annual Grand Tasting, is a celebration of the weekend’s highlighted dishes and drinks with mouth-watering samples, music and drink. Put on your boots and kick off the Wine & Spirits weekend at the Beaver Creek Rodeo while sampling a variety of fine whiskeys from Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey. Savor the flavor of the whiskey on your palate while getting a taste of this wild west tradition.

Rising high above Beaver Creek Village at the top of the Centennial Express chairlift, Spruce Saddle Lodge is an iconic venue for breathtaking scenery and mountain adventure. Built in 1982, it is one of the original resort structures, and at 10,200 feet offers unrivaled views of the Gore Range and Eagle River Valley. It is here that you’ll participate in an outdoor fitness class from Allegria Spa like never before. 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: Pilates Mat: This class uses the classical Pilates callisthenic exercises to strengthen deep core musculature. Learn the fundamentals of movement that will create postural awareness all day long!

Take your wine knowledge from enthusiast to expert with this exciting group exploration of the five classic red Bordeaux varietals. Taste Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in a guided group tasting designed to engage each of your senses to heighten your tasting experience. Once you learn how to harness all five senses to aid in identifying the delicate differences in each varietal, we'll treat you to chef created bites that will enhance the unique characteristics of each wine.

Visionary Winemaker Jayson Woodbridge always had a desire to make Pinot Noir.
