STOWE, Vt. – Summer 2017 – Stowe’s newest mountain experiences are now open on Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Already one of the most popular New England summer mountain destinations, Stowe Mountain Resort currently offers families visiting Stowe even more opportunities to discover the area’s most awe inspiring summit and the surrounding forest in ways never imagined before.

NEW ZIP TOUR ADVENTURE
See and experience the mountain canopy in ways never imagined before now. ZipTour is the world’s fastest and most exhilarating zip line experience. Using Stowe’s zip trolley braking system you control your line speed, which can reach up to 80 miles per hour. Ride our Summit Gondola to the launching point near the top of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Then enjoy the thrill of flying down three of the world’s longest zip-spans, both above and through the Green Mountain State Forest.

NEW TREETOP ADVENTURE
Stowe’s Treetop Adventure offers 6 different levels of courses consisting of aerial tree-to-tree connections with 68 various Challenge/Game elements intertwined in the experience. First you’ll learn to use our state-of- the-art safety cable system, giving you the knowledge and skill to achieve feats on our Adventure Courses that will leave you motivated to conquer the world. Suitable for most ages, the courses are designed to progressively build confidence and defy the expectations of your capabilities. This is a truly inspiring activity.

NEW STOWE ROCKS CLIMBING CENTER
Stowe Rocks features three unique, distinct areas for climbers: The Bouldering area, Program Wall and Elephant Head Tower. There are a total of 8 manual belay and 8 TruBlue Auto-Belay stations, for a total of 16 climbing stations at Stowe Rocks. Professional American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) certified Climbing Wall Instructors are available for group and private lessons.

NEW STOWE ADVENTURE CENTER
The Stowe Mountain Resort Adventure Center is the gateway – for guests, locals, owners and club members – to adventure, the environment, wellness and to the unique mountain culture of Stowe, Vermont. In the summer, the Stowe Adventure Center is the launching-off point for the ZipTour Adventure and Treetop Adventure activities, as well as the home for the all-new Stowe Rocks indoor rock climbing center. This is also the new home of Stowe’s Cubs Day Care and the Summer Adventure Camp for kids ages 3-12. A new restaurant, The Canteen, offers food and drinks (including adult drinks) and Adventure Outfitters is a retail shop adjacent to the climbing center. Beginning in Winter 2016/17, the Stowe Adventure Center is also home to our world-class children’s Ski and Ride School, with beginner lifts just steps away from the building.

Stowe Mountain Resort’s Other Summer Adventures Include:

AUTO TOLL ROAD
The Mt. Mansfield Auto Toll Road is over 150 years old. The 4.5-mile unpaved road begins next to the Inn at the Mountain and climbs to an elevation of 3,850 feet. The road ends at a parking lot next to the Mt. Mansfield Summit Station. Bikes and motorcycles are not allowed. The road’s upper terminus presents spectacular hiking options. To the north, the Cliff Trail, Long Trail, and Canyon Trail – all about 1.5 miles long and climbing about 550 feet – offer three routes to Mansfield’s “Chin.” Southerly trail options include the Lakeview Trail, Forehead Bypass, and Long Trail to the Forehead. All hikers should stop into the Green Mountain Club prior to hiking for an orientation. Hiking maps are distributed upon arrival.

GONDOLA SKYRIDE
An equally spectacular mountain ascent is provided by the Gondola Skyride. The comfortable, eight-passenger gondolas depart from the Gondola Barn, which is served by its own access road and parking lot approximately ¼ mile north of the historic Mt. Mansfield Base Lodge. While the Auto Toll Road ends at the Nose, the gondola terminates at Stowe Mountain Resort’s newly renovated Cliff House restaurant, which is open daily for lunch.

KIDS SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP
This fun and educational program is offered at the mountain and available for kids ages 3 to 12.  Single day and flexible five-day passes allow parents to choose the dates. Camp hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday-Saturday through September 1.
