Park City Mountain Now Open for the 2016-17 Season!

PARK CITY, Utah – Nov. 26, 2016 – The first skiers and snowboarders of the season took to the slopes this morning at Park City Mountain marking the beginning of the 2016-17 winter season.
Dedication took a whole new meaning for the teenagers that camped out for two nights to get first chair. Wickman Taylor, Porter Fox, Garrett Christiensen and Jaxon Gordon have been coming to Park City Mountain’s opening day for three years. “We grew up in Park City. This is where we have been riding since we were little,” says Gordon. “It’s just the place to be!”
Taylor, from Oakley, says his favorite part about the resort is getting to be a “50/50” rider, “You can come down and hit the park, or if it’s a powder day, go shred in the mountains. It’s the best of both worlds!”
The lifts officially started spinning at 10:00 a.m. at the Park City Base Area where guests were greeted with music, complimentary hot chocolate and donuts and freshly groomed trails. Normal resort hours will resume at the Park City Base Area tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. and Canyons Village will open Sunday, November 27th.
