  • Winter Brings 11 Inches of Fresh Snow to Best of Tahoe Resorts
  • Epic Pass is on Sale until Sunday, Dec. 4 
North and South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – Nov. 21, 2016 – This weekend’s snow storms delivered as much as 11 inches of fresh snow to the Best of Tahoe resorts. Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California Resort will open for the ski season Wednesday, Nov. 23 and Kirkwood Mountain Resort will open for skiing Saturday, Nov. 26. 
 
“Recent winter storms and continued cold snowmaking temperatures created ideal conditions to prepare the Best of Tahoe resorts for opening day,” said Pete Sonntag, senior vice president of mountain division and chief operating officer of Heavenly Mountain Resort. “We’re thrilled to welcome guests with great skiing this holiday weekend at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood.”
 
Additional snow and cold temperatures are forecast throughout the holiday weekend.  “We are excited to open Kirkwood this Saturday. The mountain received an additional 11 inches of fresh snow over the weekend and additional snow is forecast Friday night. Kirkwood is living up to its famed reputation for great snow – even on opening day,” said Doug Pierini, vice president and general manager of Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
 
With the arrival of winter at the Best of Tahoe resorts, skiers and riders can celebrate winter with two additional weeks to purchase a 2016-2017 Epic Pass, which offers savings of up to 40 percent compared to lift ticket window prices. The Epic Pass is on sale through Sunday, Dec. 4.  
 
With the recent addition of Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada, all 2016-2017 Epic Pass holders will receive five days of skiing or snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb this season in addition to unlimited, unrestricted access to Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado; Park City in Utah; and Kirkwood, Heavenly and Northstar in California.
 
Europe Is Epic 
Alongside Whistler Blackcomb in Canada, Europe is also new on the Epic Pass for the 2016-2017 season. Epic Pass skiers and snowboarders now have access to European skiing and snowboarding extending the value of their season passes even more. The Epic Pass includes limited access to Arlberg in Austria, Les 3 Vallées, Paradiski and Tignes-Val D’Isere in France, Skirama Dolomiti in Italy and 4 Vallées in Switzerland. 2016-2017 Ski and Snowboard Season Pass Options for Choices in Tahoe, North America & Europe
  • The Tahoe Local Pass™ is the best way to access Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood seven days a week. It includes Saturday access at all three Lake Tahoe resorts with limited holiday restrictions, all for $569 for adults, $459 for teens and $289 for children. The Tahoe Local Pass also now includes five days of non-holiday skiing and snowboarding at Utah’s Park City, the largest ski resort in the U.S., and Colorado’s Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin. Pass holder tickets are available for purchase at a discounted rate during blackout days at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood. The Tahoe Local Pass pays for itself in just over three days.  
  • The Tahoe Value Pass™ is best for people who can handle a few restrictions. Ski or snowboard seven days a week at Heavenly and six days a week at Northstar and Kirkwood. The pass is available at $479 for adults, $389 for teens and seniors and $249 for children (ages 5 to 12) and pays for itself in just over three days. The Tahoe Value Pass has holiday restrictions at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood with Saturdays excluded at Northstar and Kirkwood. Pass holders can purchase discounted lift tickets valid at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood Resorts on restricted days.
  •  Epic Pass™:  Ski unlimited and unrestricted from opening day to closing day for only $849. The Epic Pass pays for itself in just over four days of skiing or snowboarding. Enjoy full access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe; Perisher in Australia for the 2017 season; Afton Alps in Minnesota; Mt. Brighton in Michigan; and Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin.
