AFTON, Minn. – Nov. 15, 2016 – Vail Resorts’ 2016-2017 ski season begins this Friday with the opening of Keystone Resort in Colorado and the best way to access unlimited skiing and snowboarding locally at Afton Alps and out West this winter is with Vail Resorts’ season pass lineup. This year’s Epic Passes are only available through Sunday, Nov. 20, which means that Minneapolis-area skiers have just five remaining days to secure the greatest value in skiing and snowboarding at the best mountains in Minnesota, Colorado, Utah, Tahoe and Canada this winter.
With the recent addition of Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada, all 2016-2017 Epic Local Pass and Epic Pass holders will receive five days of skiing and snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb this winter season with holiday restrictions. From only $649, skiers and snowboarders receive unlimited skiing and snowboarding at Afton Alps as well as access to 12 additional resorts including Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge in Colorado and Park City in Utah.
For those who plan to ski close to home, the Afton Alps Pass grants unlimited and unrestricted access to Afton Alps for just $449, where winter weather is predicted to bring fantastic snow this winter. Families can purchase unlimited skiing for four at Afton Alps for only $1,199.
2016-2017 Season Pass Options for Afton Alps Skiers and Snowboarders:
- Epic Local Pass™: For $649, pass holders receive unlimited and unrestricted skiing or riding at Afton Alps, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Wilmot Mountain and Mt. Brighton, with limited restrictions at Park City, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood, plus a total of 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek with holiday restrictions. Now includes five free days at Whistler Blackcomb in 2016-2017 with holiday restrictions. The Epic Local Pass pays for itself in just over three days out West. A child pass (ages five to 12) is $339.
- Epic Pass™: Ski as much as you want, whenever you want for $849. The Epic Pass pays for itself in just over four days of skiing or riding out West. With more than 32,000 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain, this pass is the best in the industry. It features unlimited, unrestricted access to Afton Alps locally, plus Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado, Park City in Utah, Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe, Perisher in Australia for the 2017 season, Wilmot Mountain just outside of Chicago and Mt. Brighton in Michigan. Also, now with five free days at Whistler Blackcomb in 2016-2017 with holiday restrictions. The Epic Pass also grants limited access to Arlberg in Austria, Les 3 Vallées, Paradiski and Tignes-Val D’Isere in France, Skirama Dolomiti in Italy and 4 Vallées in Switzerland. - Afton Alps Pass (including Afton Alps Family Pass): For those who plan to ski or snowboard solely at Afton Alps, there is the Afton Alps Pass. At $449 for adults, pass holders receive unlimited access to Afton Alps with no restrictions. A discounted rate is offered for families of three people at $909; additional family members can be added for $144 each. A kids’ Afton Alps season pass is priced at $339 and is automatically upgraded to an Epic Local Child Pass with access to nine world-class mountains in Colorado, Utah and Lake Tahoe.
