AFTON ALPS, Minn. – Aug. 24, 2016 – Afton Alps is offering skiers and snowboarders the lowest guaranteed price on 2016-2017 season passes through Monday, Sept. 5, for access to the best skiing in Minnesota and the best mountain resorts in Colorado, Utah and Lake Tahoe. This year’s season pass line-up offers a pass for every type of skier and snowboarder, whether guests are in search of unrestricted local access or a trip to iconic mountains like Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge in Colorado or Park City in Utah.
For those looking to venture out West, season pass options include access to nine world-class resorts in Colorado, Utah and Lake Tahoe, ensuring that skiers and snowboarders have the ability to enjoy the best snow this winter brings. At only $609, the Epic Local Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted skiing and snowboarding at Afton Alps, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado with limited restrictions at Park City in Utah, and Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe, plus a total of 10 days with holiday restrictions at Vail and Beaver Creek in Colorado. As an added bonus, any Afton Alps kids’ season pass purchased will automatically be upgraded to the Epic Local Child Pass, giving unlimited access to the resorts in Colorado, Utah and Lake Tahoe.
Pass holders with a passion for Afton Alps will enjoy unlimited, unrestricted access to Minnesota’s highest quality snow thanks to the ski area’s state-of-the-art snowmaking system, which was part of a $10 million investment in 2013. Not only does the snowmaking system improve the snow at Afton Alps, it also significantly reduces the ski area’s energy use. The installation of energy-efficient snow guns, in combination with other upgrades to the snowmaking system, allows the ski area to efficiently utilize existing water resources and decrease energy consumption. In essence, guests can feel good about the premier snow surface at Afton Alps, which is a benefit for all ability levels.
“Of all of the investments and upgrades put into Afton Alps in 2013, the most consistent feedback we hear from guests is how much the quality of the snow has improved,” said Joe Yasis, general manager of Afton Alps. “The highest-quality snow surface differentiates Afton Alps from other ski areas in Minnesota, and our season passes offer the added benefit of a variety of skiing and snowboarding experiences at the best resorts in the West.”
