EGE Air Alliance Secures New, Non-stop Service Between Vail and Washington D.C. this Winter
Inaugural Winter Flight Scheduled for Dec. 24

Vail, Colo. – July 18, 2016 – Beginning this December, United Airlines will fly non-stop between its hub at Washington/Dulles (IAD) and Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE).

Mike Brown, chairman of the EGE Air Alliance, recently announced that the winter flight will operate weekly beginning Saturday, Dec. 24 and ending April 1, 2017. United will operate the route with Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

“We are excited to add yet another new flight to the market for winter 2016-2017,” said Brown. “Our goal for the Air Alliance is to grow the service to and from the Vail Valley for our year-round guests. This flight will make a convenient connection point for travel from the East Coast via United’s hub at Washington Dulles.”

“It is great to have new flight service from such a core market for our winter destination guests,” said Vail Director of Marketing Jim Kellen. “We’re excited to welcome both return and new guests from the DC area to Vail this winter.”

Flights will depart from IAD at approximately 12:30 p.m. and arrive at EGE at 2:50 p.m. The return flight to IAD will depart EGE at approximately 3:50 p.m. with an arrival at 9:20 p.m.

“Our Colorado customers now have another convenient option when booking travel to the East Coast” said United’s Sales Manager Sandy Everett. “This new route also provides our D.C area customers with nonstop access to some of the world’s best ski destinations in the Rocky Mountains.”

The EGE Air Alliance was able to secure this flight due to community support from more than 65 businesses; an historic level of support. The EGE Air Alliance is a 501c6 not-for-profit entity dedicated to creating a vibrant flight service program at the Eagle County Regional Airport. The EGE Air Alliance is a public-private partnership with participants including local municipalities and private business stakeholders.
