Afton Alps Opens Championship Caliber Disc Golf Course
AFTON, Minn. – July 7, 2016 – Afton Alps, in partnership with Vibram, the worldwide leader in high performance soles and partner of Vail Resorts, is pleased to announce the opening of a championship caliber disc golf course. The course is designed to provide a high-level, challenging disc golf experience set against stunning hilltop views.
“We are excited to partner with Vibram to utilize the vertical and rugged terrain of the hillsides of Afton Alps as a footprint for a disc golf course.” said Joe Yasis, general manager at Afton Alps. “Plus, the view makes for a great backdrop.”
“Vibram has been creating rubber lugged compounds for footwear since 1937, but it was only a few years ago when Vibram Disc Golf was established,” said Steve Dodge, Vibram Disc Golf business manager. "It was then that Vibram introduced the X-Link, the first cross linked material to be used for disc golf, which is now changing the sport. It’s exciting to create such high-caliber course in one of the sport’s top markets."
The course opened on Friday, July 1, with a grand opening celebration to take place on Saturday, July 23.

- Fees: $10 for a day pass. Play as many rounds as you would like, or your lungs and legs can handle.
- Opening Special: July 1 through July 24 (grand opening weekend) – Buy one pass, get one free.* (*both golfers must be present at the time of purchase and both passes must be used that same day)
