Keystone Bike Park Set to Host 2nd Stage of the Big Mountain Enduro Series July 9-10, plus a Special “FUNduro” Event Just for Kids
- The Keystone Bike Park will be closed to the public for the Big Mountain Enduro event, but will reopen for a special twilight offering from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Keystone, Colo. — July 5, 2016 — Renowned among downhill enthusiasts, the Keystone Bike Park is set to host the second stage of the Big Mountain Enduro series at Keystone Resort July 9-10. New this year, the event will also feature a kids FUNduro event on Saturday.
Known as the premier Enduro series in North America, the Big Mountain Enduro brings high-speed, adrenaline-fueled, all-mountain riding to the Keystone Bike Park. Competitors will be challenged with Keystone’s top trails, rock gardens, high-speed features, new track designs and six timed stages. The Big Mountain Enduro begins at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Registration is required, and can be completed online at bigmountainenduro.com or in person at Keystone Sports in River Run Village on Thursday, July 7 or Friday, July 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
FUNduro Kids Bike Event
While adult competitors navigate the Keystone Bike Park during the second stage of the 2016 Big Mountain Enduro Series, kids will have the exciting opportunity to test their skills during the exclusive, for-fun FUNduro Event on Saturday, July 9. This new event is designed to allow children aged 6-12 to sample the thrill of an Enduro event with access to the Keystone Skills Park and green singletrack biking on Easy Street and Sleepy Hollow from 2-5 p.m. While kids will be timed, this is a non-competitive and fun event presented by Big Mountain Enduro and the Keystone Bike Park. Registration is free and can be completed in person at Keystone. A children’s bike haul pass is required to access the East Street and Sleepy Hollow portion of the FUNduro.

With a trail crew staff dedicated to maintaining and improving the high standards of the Keystone Bike Park, a variety of new upgrades and additions welcome riders in 2016, including new features, re-worked trails, increased bike haul capacity and a free skills park to promote progression. New for 2016, the Keystone Bike Academy caters to riders of all levels with beginner clinics, private lessons and downhill guides. Bike and full downhill gear rentals are conveniently available at Keystone Sports locations in the resort’s River Run Village, and Bike Park Season Passes may be purchased now by visiting keystoneresort.com.
