Summer Fun Returns to Breck This Friday

Breck officially kicks off the summer season with the opening of its Summer Fun Park this Friday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m. Uniquely situated on the slopes above the Historic town of Breckenridge, and easily accessible via the FREE BreckConnect Gondola, the Breck Summer Fun Park features activities for all ages, including the Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Superslide, Breck Treks guided hikes, 4X4 off-road tours, off-road Segway tours, a climbing wall, mini golf and more.
 
Summer 2016 will also feature Kids’ Base Camp, focusing on Breck’s youngest guests, featuring a small kids zipline, kids challenge course and a kids summer tubing hill for children weighing between 30 – 100lbs.,
 
The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park will be open daily starting Friday, June 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Labor Day; then Friday, Saturday and Sunday for two additional weeks closing on September 18, 2016.  Free parking will be available for guests in the Gondola North parking lot. The BreckConnect Gondola will start running with FREE service on Friday, June 10 at 9 a.m.

Locals’ Appreciation Day
Breckenridge Ski Resort invites local residents to donate canned goods for the Family and Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) and enjoy a sneak peak of the Summer Fun Park on June 9 from 1 – 3 p.m. The Fun Park can be accessed via the Breck Free Ride. Featured activities include the Gold Runner Coaster and the Alpine Superslide and other limited activities.
 
The lingering snow pack is also having an impact on mountain biking programs and Segway tours, which will open at later date; hiking programs and 4x4 off-road tours will be limited. On-Mountain Dining
Fun Park visitors can also enjoy dining during the summer on the spectacular Ski Hill Grill patio conveniently located at One Ski Hill Place at the base of the fun park.  Both the Ski Hill Grill and the T-Bar next door will be open daily starting June 10, from 11 a.m. until the gondola closes.
 
Sevens, located on Peak 7, will also be open daily for both lunch and dinner. Additionally, guests can bring their dog for Happy Hour, daily from 3 – 6 p.m. Canine inspired beer and wine will be available, along with appetizer specials and complimentary treats for dogs (who bring along their owners!).

What’s New for 2016-2017!
This summer, Breckenridge Ski Resort will be constructing a new restaurant on Peak 7 at the top of Independence SuperChair. The restaurant will accommodate 490 guests and offer a variety of food and drink options including a Mediterranean station and extensive salad bar. The new restaurant is expected to open in December, 2016. Construction will also begin this summer for Epic Discovery, set to launch summer, 2017. Guests should be aware of construction and maintenance and pay attention to closures and restricted areas when exploring the mountain.
