Breck’s Spring Fever Bud Light Concert Series Kicks-Off This Weekend

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 7, 2016 — The biggest spring party in the Rocky Mountains, Breck’s Spring Fever Festival, rocks the weekend with Friday’s Spring Fever Park Jam, Saturday’s free concert by Michael Franti & Spearhead and the town Spring Fever Beer Festival. With 8.5 FEET of snow since March, conditions are prime for spring skiing and snowboarding across Breckenridge’s five peaks. Breck Spring Fever Happenings Weekend April 8-10:
  • Fri., April 8 Spring Fever Park Jam – Join the Breck Park Crew Friday afternoons April 8 and 15, where free Spring Fever Park Jams in Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks will be running. Win season passes or cash during the jam-style contests from noon to 3 p.m.
  • Sat., April 9 BudLight Concert Series, featuring Michael Franti & Spearhead – FREE to the public at base of Peak 8. Don’t miss the free Michael Franti concert on the snow outside Saturday, April 9 beginning at 2 p.m. DJ DC gets the party started with free giveaways and music.
  • Sat., April 9 Breckenridge Spring Fever Beer Festival – Sample beers from more than 35 breweries in downtown Breck on Ridge Street. Begins at noon and features delicious food and free music. Book before it sells out!
Breck Spring Fever Happenings Weekend April 13-17:
  • Wed., April 13 Breck Ascent Series Final Race – The final race in the 2015-2016 series, climb up the mountain and ski or snowboard down in a race format presented by Breckenridge Ski Resort and Breckenridge Recreation Department. Pre-register ($20) by calling (970) 453-1734 or register day of ($22). After party to follow. Race starts at 5:30 p.m. at Peak 7 base area.
  • Fri., April 15  Spring Fever Park Jam – Join the Breck Park Crew Friday afternoons April 8 and 15, where free Spring Fever Park Jams in Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks will be running. Win season passes or cash during the jam-style contests from noon to 3 p.m.
  • Sat., April 16 Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real – FREE to the public at base of Peak The son of music legend Willie Nelson, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real electrify fans year-round with performances across the country, don’t miss this free concert beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. Arrive early to hear Breck’s one and only ski patrol band, Blue Monkey 22 perform as the opening act.
  • Sun., April 17 Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue – FREE to the public at base of Peak 8 New Orleans native Trombone Shorty is the bandleader and frontman in the hard-edged funk band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. The group’s musical talents are best showcased during live performance, where NOLA jazz heritage is paired with modern funk to delight fans everywhere. The free concert begins at 2 p.m. at the base of Peak 8.
Breck Spring Fever Closing Week Details:
  • Closing Week Deals - Closing week at Breckenridge will offer approximately 1,000 acres of skiing on Peak 8, conditions permitting.  Special lodging packages for that week are now available, starting at $119/night; book now at Breckenridge.com. Ski School will be discounted and lift ticket prices start at just $54. More details at Breckenridge.com.
  • Sat., April 23 The Imperial Challenge – This unique pseudo-triathlon celebrates its 25th year. Bike or run from Breckenridge Recreation Center to the base of Peak 8 and then ascend Breckenridge Ski Resort to the top of T-Bar or top of Peak 8 and descend in a race style format. Pre-register ($50) at MavSports.com or register day of ($60.)
  • Sun., April 24 Closing Day Cowboy BBQ – Close out the season right with a beef BBQ on the patio at One Ski Hill Place at the Peak 8 base area.  The party includes music and a mechanical bull.
Spring Lift and Terrain Updates at Breck
  • “A” Chair and “C” Chair are closed for the season.
  • Sunday, April 10 will be the last day for Peak 10, Falcon SuperChair, Beaver Run SuperChair and the Overlook Restaurant on Peak 9.
  • Lifts will continue to spin starting at 8:30 a.m. through April 24
  • Sunday, April 17 will be the last day for Peaks 9, 7 and 6, as well as TenMile Station and The Maggie Restaurants.
  • Starting Monday, April 18 operations will take place on Peak 8 only with the Gondola, Colorado SuperChair, T-Bar, Imperial SuperChair, Rip’s Ride, Snowflake and two carpets.
  • Snow permitting, guests will be able to ski back to the base areas on Peaks 7 and 9 as well as ski and snowboard down Four O’clock trail to town, the Gondola lots and the Snowflake trail through April 24.
  • Snowflake Lift will remain open through Sunday, April 24.
EpicDay Lift Tickets – Save Up To 20 Percent
Skiers who have yet to become Epic Pass holders can enjoy lift ticket savings of up to 20 percent this spring with EpicDay Lift Tickets. When purchased in advance, lift tickets can be picked up at a designated EpicDay Express Ticket Pick-Up lane at each resort. Once the ticket is issued, guests can retain and re-load it online with additional days – skipping a return trip to the ticket window.
