Breckenridge Ski Resort Announces Lineup for Breck Spring Fever Bud Light Concert Series
Michael Franti & Spearhead, Lukas Nelson and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave headline this year’s line-up

Breck Spring Fever runs March 18 - April 17, 2016
 
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Feb. 29, 2016 — Breckenridge Ski Resort is excited to announce the lineup for the Bud Light Free Concert Series as part of its annual Breck Spring Fever Festival, March 18 - April 17, 2016. The three concerts will include big-name, national acts Michael Franti & SpearheadLukas Nelson, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.
 
Breck’s Spring Fever Festival, the largest spring skiing party in the Rocky Mountain region, kicks off the weekend of March 18, 2016 with the GoPro Big Mountain Challenge. In addition to the free concerts, the fun continues with a series of signature events including Easter family festivities, the Spring Fever Beer Festival and competitions in Breck’s award winning Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks.

All concerts are FREE and will take place from 2-5 p.m. on a specially-constructed stage in the Peak 8 base area, just outside One Ski Hill Place, a RockResort.

FULL LINEUP FOR 2016 BRECK SPRING FEVER BUD LIGHT CONCERT SERIES:
April 9 - Michael Franti & Spearhead

Michael Franti combines his love of R&B, hip-hop, reggae and poetry into a unique blend of music that inspires both the soul and mind. Franti is a charismatic performer and lead vocalist who connects seamlessly with his audience during his live performances. On his recent album, All People, Franti exudes a sun-drenched and upbeat vibe, especially in his new song, “I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like)” which sets the scene for his other whistle-along hits. Franti's humanitarian, social justice, and peace efforts continue to inspire his music and are infused throughout his upcoming album on Fantasy Records due to release in May 2016.

April 16 – Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real
Lukas Nelson first picked up a guitar at the age of 11 and practiced his craft by playing along to classic Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix songs. The son of music legend Willie Nelson, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real electrify fans year-round with performances across the country, while also backing for the Neil Young band. Their cowboy, beach-hippy vibe meshes with a gritty rock and roll feel that creates a high-energy and infectious live set. At the heart of Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real is their undying passion of Rock n Roll that speaks from the heart.

April 17 – Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue
New Orleans native Trombone Shorty is the bandleader and frontman in the hard-edged funk band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. He began playing professionally at the age of five, and now Trombone Shorty and his band tour internationally with their unique style that employs rock dynamics, a hip-hop beat and improvisation in a jazz tradition. The group’s musical talents are best showcased during live performance, where NOLA jazz heritage is paired with modern funk to delight fans everywhere. 
 
Breck Spring Fever 2016 Signature Events include:
March 18 - 20 
Go Pro Big Mountain Challenge - Come watch the action at Peak 6 at 10:00 a.m. both days and see some of the best big mountain free riders in the country as they compete in this youth freestyle event and score points in the IFSA series.

April 1, 8, 15  
Spring Fever Park Jam – Join the Breck Park Crew Friday afternoons during Spring Fever, where they’ll be running Spring Fever Park Jams in Freeway and Park Lane. Win GoPros, season passes and other prizes during jam-style contests from noon to 3 p.m.

April 2             
Mountain Dew Park Competition – Park Lane becomes center stage during this exhilarating competition at Park Lane on Peak 8. More details to come.

April 3             
Spring Fever Breck Chili Cook-Off – Sevens restaurant will host its annual chili cook-off at noon when top chefs from Breckenridge Ski Resort and Breck Hospitality face off against each other to see whose chili recipe is the best.

April 9             
Breckenridge Spring Fever Beer Festival – Sample beers from more than 35 breweries in downtown Breck on Ridge Street. Beginning at noon, this event features delicious food and free music.
