Keystone Resort’s Kids Ski Free Program Set to Surpass 100,000 Free Kids Lift Tickets

Keystone, Colo. — Jan. 13, 2016 — Kids know a great deal when they see one, and they’ve been taking advantage of Keystone Resort’s Kids Ski Free program in droves, which this January will officially surpass 100,000 free kids lift tickets provided since the program began. Available each day of the season with no blackout dates, kids 12 and younger who stay two nights or more at Keystone have been saving their parents money for the past four seasons. To honor the 100,000 milestone, Keystone will celebrate all things kids with a week-long Kids Ski Free 100K Golden Ticket event from Jan. 24-30.
Each family taking advantage of Keystone’s Kids Ski Free Program from Jan. 24-30 will receive a chocolate bar upon check-in, with 10 lucky families receiving a limited edition golden ticket chocolate bar handcrafted by Keystone’s executive pastry chef Ned Archibald. These winning golden tickets will be worth $500 resort credit, valid towards Keystone activities such as Ski & Ride School, signature dining experiences, or owned and operated retail outlets like Keystone Sports. In addition, surprise golden ticket chocolate bars, valid for $50 resort credit, can be won at Kidtopia events throughout the week, with guests encouraged to follow @KeystoneMtn on Twitter to get the inside scoop on golden ticket locations.

Families can participate in a unique, behind-the-scenes Chocolate Tour Experience with Chef Ned, Keystone’s famous executive pastry chef and master chocolatier. The Chocolate Tour Experience will be offered on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Friday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. and will provide kids a behind-the-scenes look into Chef Ned’s fun world of desserts, including a tour of his pastry shop, a chocolate making experience and a delicious take-away for each participant. The Chocolate Tours are free, but guests need to register online at Keystoneresort.com/GoldenTicket.
Free Keystone Kids Adventure Zone Tours led by Keystone Ski & Ride School
Keystone’s on-mountain Kids Adventure Zones are designed to engage young skiers and riders while promoting on-snow progression with specialty features such as gentle rollers and gold mines. Keystone’s Ski & Ride School will offer free tours of seven on-mountain Adventure Zone locations on Monday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interested guests can meet at the Kidtopia Snow Fort at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome, including parents, and participants must have a lift ticket and be able to safely navigate intermediate terrain.
Family Dining Experiences Offering Exclusive Discounts
Two of Keystone’s signature dining experiences, the Alpenglow Stube and Der Fondue Chessel, will provide children 12 and younger 50 percent discounts on dinner meals throughout the week. Advanced reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling Keystone’s Activities and Dining at 970-496-4386. The Alpenglow Stube and Der Fondue Chessel are open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday.
On Saturday, 9280’ Tap House in River Run Village offers one of the best views of the Kidtopia Fireworks, set for 7 p.m., from their outdoor patio. Families can enjoy the sights and sounds of River Run Village while enjoying one of the many affordable dinner options.
Kidtopia Kids Win Big
Keystone’s season-long free daily Kidtopia programming provides new ways for families to enjoy their time at Keystone together, such as the daily 4 p.m. Cookie Time, Saturday Ripperoo Parade and Kidtopia Fireworks and much more. Now in its fourth season, Keystone’s Kids Ski Free program provides kids 12 and younger the opportunity to ski for free at the resort with no blackout dates.
