 BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Oct. 5, 2015 — When summer gives way to cool autumn evenings and morning temperatures dip below freezing, it can only mean one thing: ski season is right around the corner. To assist guests in booking their ultimate winter vacation, Vail Resorts has compiled this handy “Back to Ski” checklist:

1. Get a season pass. The Epic Local Pass provides access to the five best mountains in Colorado – Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin – and Sunday, Oct. 11 is the last day to purchase it for as little as $599. The Epic Local Pass pays for itself in just four days.
2. Enroll kids in Epic SchoolKids. For Colorado residents with elementary school-aged children, utilizing the Epic Local Pass in conjunction with the new Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack provides families unprecedented value and the perfect opportunity to enjoy Colorado’s premier resorts together. Epic SchoolKids is open to Colorado kindergarteners through fifth graders, providing four days of free skiing and riding at each of the best resorts in their backyard – Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. The deadline to enroll is Oct. 11.
3. Secure equipment for the kids. Vail Resorts Retail’s Junior Trade In Program at Colorado Ski and Golf locations and Boulder Ski Deals allows families to save on gear as their kids grow. Families can purchase new ($199) or used ($99) equipment for kids entering the program for the first time, then turn the gear in when the kids outgrow it and receive 50 percent off the purchase price towards next year’s equipment.
4. Lock in the best lodging rates across Vail Resorts’ mountain destinations in Colorado. Guests will save up to 30 percent when booking their stay by opening day at any of Vail Resorts’ four Colorado resorts. Additionally, throughout the year, Epic Pass holders save up to an additional 20 percent off the lowest rates and existing promotional packages with Vail Resorts’ owned and operated lodging properties.
5. Book a lesson. Vail Resorts’ Ski and Snowboard Schools deliver instruction that provides inspiration, adventure and self-discovery. Keystone offers a number of affordably-priced specialty lessons, from the three- or four-week Kroozers program, where kids ski with the same instructor and group, to the one-hour “Mom, Dad and Me” lesson, which allows parents to ski with their kids as well as their kids’ instructors to review the day’s lesson.

Vail Resorts encourages guests to purchase pass insurance. All of the Company’s season pass products are non-refundable and non-transferable; however, pass insurance covers pass holders in the event of unexpected circumstances including sickness, injury and job loss.
