Vacation Packages, Free Activities, Outdoor Adventures Await Guests
Keystone, Colo. — July 1, 2015 — Summer is sizzling at Keystone Resort, with a July lineup jam-packed with family-friendly adventures. From scenic lift rides and guided hikes to horseback riding and 36-holes of championship golf, the opportunities to experience a Rocky Mountain getaway at Keystone are aplenty; here are some of the can’t miss July happenings:
Fourth of July
Celebrate Independence Day at Keystone with family-friendly events, live music and a firework display over the Keystone Lake. A full day of entertainment is highlighted by a Fishing Derby (8-9:30 a.m.), a Bike Parade complete with a kids decorating party (10:30 a.m.), live music by Trout Steak Revival (12-3 p.m.) and The Burroughs (7-9 p.m.), and a free Fourth of July Fireworks Show at 9 p.m. over Keystone’s 5-acre lake in Lakeside Village.
100% Downhill
Keystone’s Bike Park is 100 percent open. Featuring 100 miles of lift-serviced singletrack mountain biking terrain across 55 trails, the mountain’s progressive terrain welcomes riders of all ability levels. Keystone Bike Park Season Passes begin at just $159, with a variety of options available, including Vail Resort’s FreeRide pass, offering unlimited riding in Colorado, Utah and California.
Big Mountain Enduro
The second stage of the 2015 Big Mountain Enduro Series comes to Keystone on July 11-12. Keystone’s Bike Park course will challenge riders to the fullest and combine the top trails on the mountain, along with unique course designs never seen before at Keystone. Wine and Jazz Fest
More than 300 varieties of wine samples will be available in Keystone’s River Run Village from 12-5 p.m. on July 18 and 19. Lodging packages are available and include up to a 50 percent lodging discount with discounted wine sampling passes, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy the entire weekend’s lineup of live music and wine oriented seminars.
PJ Brunch
The Bighorn Bistro’s new family brunch provides kids and adults their very own buffets. Children can enjoy games, entertainment and a fun atmosphere with free supervision before hitting-up the children’s buffet, while adults can enjoy a classic brunch including mimosas and a Bloody-Mary bar. Families can dine together in the Bighorn Dining Room enjoying expansive views of Lakeside Village. Offered on July 12 and 26 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., reservations encouraged.
Summer Kidtopia
Keystone’s dedicated kid-friendly offerings make a summer visit to the resort a must for guests who are looking to enjoy the allure of the high alpine environment with kids in tow. Kidtopia activities offer free daily activities for the duration of the summer, including a kite building workshop, Frisbee golf challenges, family dodge ball, teen Nintendo Wii games, fishing derbies, and a Splash Fest that features a host of summer water games. Kids’ Discovery Days
Free entertainment in River Run Village includes a live entertainer, bounce house, face painters and games from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Occurs every Tuesday in July, with a different entertainer each week.
Fresh Is Best
New this season, the Keystone Farmers’ Market is quickly becoming a Sunday staple in Keystone’s Lakeside Village, where the focus is on Colorado grown fruits and vegetables. The Farmers’ Market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday through September 6, including July 5, 12, 19 and 26. Guests who bring their own reusable bags or utilize the free Keystone canvas bags can enter a drawing to win a free Keystone A-Basin season pass at the end of the summer.
Stride Rite
Keystone’s Strider Balance Bike Series is a free race series designed for children ages 2-5 years-old. The eight-race series takes place on Sundays from 10-11 a.m. in River Run Village, with registration occurring from 9-10 a.m. Prizes are awarded to the top finishers.
