Keystone Resort Begins Full Summer Operations June 12
Premier Family Resort Ideal Location for Summer Mountain Getaway
 
Keystone, Colo. — June 2, 2015 — While the Summer Solstice does not recognize the official start of summer until June 21, Keystone Resort’s summer officially begins Friday, June 12 with all on- and off-mountain activities and events, including Keystone Restaurant Week, Father’s Day, the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour and daily free Kidtopia activities – and that’s just in the month of June. Here are the top picks to enjoy Keystone Resort this month:
 
First Taste of Summer
Start summer off right with the first annual Keystone Restaurant Week, June 5-14. This new event offers a flavorful lineup of $20.15 food and drink specials at more than 15 restaurants throughout Keystone. Each participating restaurant will sell raffle tickets for the chance to win a Jack Daniel’s grill package, with 100 percent of those sales donated directly to the Keystone Science School, a 501(c) (3) organization that teaches scientific principles and leadership skills to young people, teachers, and community members through engaging hands-on field experiences.  
 
Summer Kidtopia
Keystone’s dedicated kid-friendly offerings make a summer visit to the resort a must for guests who are looking to enjoy the allure of the high alpine environment with kids in tow. Kidtopia activities begin on Monday, June 8 and offers free daily activities for the duration of the summer. Keystone’s daily Kidtopia will offer new and expanded summer programming, including a kite building workshop, frisbee golf challenges, family dodge ball, teen Nintento Wii games, fishing derbies, and a Splash Fest that features a host of summer water games. It’s All Downhill From Here
Keystone Resort’s Bike Park begins operations on Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. and will be open daily through September 7, with two additional weekends September 12-13 and 19-20. Featuring 100 miles of lift-serviced singletrack mountain biking terrain across 55 trails, the mountain’s progressive terrain welcomes riders of all ability levels.
 
The VIDA MTB Series (formerly the Betti All Ride Skills Clinic) takes place June 20-21 with a two-day clinic that features downhill mountain biking instruction taught by women, for women. The VIDA MTB Series seeks to foster a passion among women for mountain biking through the highest quality instruction. The Keystone clinic is an immersive experience that focuses on making women better riders through increased confidence and improved understanding of their relationship with the bike. Keystone Bike Park Season Passes begin at just $159, with a variety of options available, including Vail Resort’s FreeRide pass, offering unlimited riding in Colorado, Utah and California.

Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!
The Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour returns to Keystone June 27-28 for the fifth year, bringing more than 3,000 pounds of bacon to River Run Village. Specialty bacon dishes, a bacon eating contest, a bacon bloody mary bar, bacon burning workouts and free live music highlight the bacon-themed festival. Admission to the festival is free – with multiple lodging and tasting packages available for this family-friendly event, including the Free Little Piggies offer which features 50 percent discounts on lodging and two free Piglet Sampling Packages for children 12 and younger. Fresh Is Best
The first annual Keystone Farmers’ Market will be a Sunday staple in Keystone’s Lakeside Village, where the focus will be on Colorado grown fruits and vegetables. Beginning on Sunday, June 21, the Farmers’ Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday through September 6.
 
It’s Your Day, Dad
Treat Dad to some high country fun this Father’s Day through a variety of family-fun happenings at Keystone on Sunday, June 21. The offerings will include a Father’s Day Brunch at the Edgewater Café and a host of activities throughout the resort, including free miniature golf for Dad in River Run Village.
 
Stride Rite
Keystone’s Strider Balance Bike Series is a free race series designed for children ages 2-5 years-old. The eight-race series takes place on Sundays from 10-11 a.m. in River Run Village, with registration occurring from 9-10 a.m. Prizes are awarded to the top finishers. Race dates in June are the 14th and 21st.
 
Stay and Play
Great deals on overnight getaways are currently available and include up the 40 percent off the variety of lodging options available at Keystone.
