Summer Operations and Activities Kick Off at Vail Mountain on Friday, June 5
  • Adventure Ridge to offer activities for the whole family opening weekend
  • Summer tubing coming to Adventure Ridge mid-summer
Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, kicks off summer operations on Friday, June 5. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Gondola One in Vail Village and the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead will operate for weekend scenic rides June 5-7, and will move to daily summer operations beginning Friday, June 12.
 
For opening weekend Adventure Ridge will offer fun for the whole family high atop Vail Mountain at Eagle’s Nest. At the base of Lionshead, Vail’s Gore Creek Mini Golf course, situated near the Born Free Express Lift (#8) across from the ticket office, will offer putting fun for all ages.
 
Hiking and mountain biking trails on Vail Mountain, as well as bike hauls, will not be offered opening weekend June 5-7 but will open as soon as conditions permit.
 
Later this season guests can look forward to a new hiking center at the base of Lionshead, plus the introduction of summer tubing at Adventure Ridge which will eventually be incorporated into Epic Discovery along with existing activities like the Zip Flyer and challenge courses. Construction is also underway on the new Forest Flyer and canopy tours that are anticipated to debut as a part of Epic Discovery in summer 2016.
 
On-Mountain Dining
For opening weekend Sarge’s BBQ & Deck at Mid-Vail and Talon’s Deck at Eagle’s Nest will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday-Sunday, and will move to daily operations on Friday, June 12.
 
Bistro Fourteen and Game Creek Restaurant will open for summer operations beginning Friday, June 26. Bistro Fourteen will serve lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner Fridays and Saturdays from 3 to 8 p.m. Game Creek will open for dinner service Thursdays through Saturdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
The 10th will open for summer lunch service Friday-Sunday beginning Friday, July 3.
 
Summer 2015 Gondola Dates (Gondola One and Eagle Bahn Gondola)
  • Daily: Friday, June 12 – Sunday, Aug. 30
  • Weekends-Only: June 5-7, Sept. 4-7, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 and Oct. 2-4
Lift tickets are required to ride Gondola One and the Eagle Bahn Gondola during the summer and can be purchased at the Vail Village or Lionshead Ticket Offices. Lift & Lunch tickets are also available and include gondola access plus a $15 credit towards the purchase of food and beverage at any of Vail’s on-mountain dining facilities.
 
2015–2016 Epic Pass holders receive unlimited, free scenic access to the both gondolas throughout the summer. Guests who have not yet secured a pass for next winter can purchase one online at www.epicpass.com.
As always, guests are reminded to obey all posted signs and closures. Helmets and sturdy shoes with a good tread are recommended for bicyclists at all times and all bikes must have two working hand brakes. All mountain bikers must obey the Mountain Bike Responsibility Code, printed on Vail Mountain’s summer trail map.
