Breck Commences Summer with the Fun Park Opening

Contact a member of the PR team below with any questions.BRECKENRIDGE, COLO. – May 6, 2015 – Breckenridge Ski Resort will officially throw open the doors to summer on Friday, June 12 at 9:30 a.m. with the opening of its summer fun park at the base of Peak 8. The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park will welcome summer 2015 with new activities focused on Breck’s youngest guests at their new Kids’ Base Camp, as well as the fun favorites that bring guests back year-after-year.
Kids’ Base Camp at the Summer Fun Park will offer three new attractions for children weighing between 30 – 100lbs., including a small kids zipline, kids challenge course and a kids summer tubing hill. Of course, the Breck Summer Fun Park will open with perineal favorites for all ages including the Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine SuperSlide, Breck Treks guided hikes, 4X4 off-road tours, climbing wall, mini golf and more at the base of Peak 8. Scenic chair rides, access to hiking and various levels of mountain biking will operate on Peak 8 via the Colorado SuperChair; beginner mountain biking terrain can be accessed via Rip’s Ride on Peak 8.
The Breckenridge Summer Fun Park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. through Labor Day; then Friday, Saturday and Sunday the following weekend during Oktoberfest to close out the summer season on September 13. Free parking will be available for guests in the Gondola North parking lot. The BreckConnect Gondola will start running with FREE service on Friday, June 12 at 9 a.m.

On Mountain Dining
Fun Park visitors can also enjoy dining during the summer on the spectacular Ski Hill Grill patio conveniently located at One Ski Hill Place at the base of the fun park. In addition, the T-Bar next door will be open daily starting June 12 from 11 a.m. until the gondola closes. Sevens, on Peak 7, will also be open daily, from 11 a.m. -10 p.m. for both lunch and dinner. Additionally, Sevens will serve all day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer season.
Town of Breckenridge Events
A visit to Breckenridge in the summer isn’t complete without participating in a unique town event or historic tour, and Kingdom Days offers both! The annual heritage event, June 19-21 brings a robust lineup of free activities including blacksmithing demos, gold panning, historic hikes and more. The annual Outhouse Races, the centerpiece of the weekend, showcases competitors rolling down Ridge Street to vie for the Gold Throne, Silver Moon or Bronze Bucket awards. “Open House on History” tours of Breckenridge historic sites are FREE during Kingdom Days – explore the house of an escaped slave-turned-prominent businessman, pan for gold and much more.
