Northstar Golf Course Opens Friday, May 15; Northstar Bike Park and All Summer Activities Launch Friday, May 22

Opening Day for Northstar California’s extensive variety of summer adventure and activities is set for Friday, May 22.  In addition to the Northstar Golf Course (which opens May 15), Memorial Day Weekend marks the grand summer opening of the mountain bike park, hiking trails, and all activities, dining and shopping offered throughout The Village at Northstar.
 
Northstar Golf Course tees off Friday, May 15
The Northstar Golf Course offers Tahoe’s best resort golf value with summer season passes starting at $359; spring greens fees start at $35 and summer greens fees start at $50. Golfers can opt to apply a day’s greens fee toward the purchase of a season pass.  With views of the Sierra Nevada’s Pacific Crest, Lookout Mountain, and the Martis Valley, Northstar’s links-style 18-hole course invites golfers to savor its fairways and greens – and enjoy delicious breakfast or lunch at the Martis Valley Grille and Pro Shop. 

Mountain Bike Park opens Friday, May 22
Northstar California Resort invites riders to celebrate Opening Day of the Northstar Mountain Bike Park Friday, May 22 with summit-to-base descents via Village Express Quad and Zephyr Express six-passenger chair.  Northstar will offer lift-served access Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 22 through June 26; daily riding begins Friday, June 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Friday evening riding extended to 7 p.m.

The Free-Ride Unlimited Pass is again available for summer 2015 for $369, which includes unlimited summer mountain bike access to Lake Tahoe’s Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain Resort, as well as Vail Mountain and Keystone Resort in Colorado, and Canyons in Park City, Utah.  Additionally, pass holders will receive five Bike-with-a-Friend discounted tickets, each valid for a day of riding at the five mountains.

New Northstar Summer Fun Pass includes all-inclusive day of adventure and activities
New this summer and offered daily, the Summer Fun Pass offers an all-inclusive day of activities to be enjoyed by all ages – including a chair lift scenic ascent to lunch on the mountain; roller skating, miniature golf, bungy trampoline, gem panning, Strider bikes, and access to the new rock wall and spider web climber in The Village.  The Summer Fun Pass is available daily for $49 per guest.

Northstar Bike Academy
Bike Academy 101 daily coaching packages offer the ultimate way to gain technique and riding skills that help guests have more fun while descending the trails at Northstar.  Whether riders are new to mountain biking or seasoned veterans, the Northstar Bike Academy offers coaching for all ability levels.  All-inclusive Bike Academy 101 packages (which include bike rental, lift ticket, protective gear and helmet, and coaching) start at $125. 

Northstar Kids’ Summer Camp offers daily fun on the mountain 
Children ages four through 12 are invited for a full day of active outdoor fun and enriching activities at Northstar.  Beginning Saturday, June 27, the Northstar Kids’ Summer Camp offers supervised adventure from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for $125 which includes activities throughout The Village and exploration on the mountain, lunch, and a fun environment for meeting new friends. 

Lift & Lunch package offers scenic mountain hiking and mid-mountain dining
Hikers enjoy lift-served access to upper-mountain trails, scenic vistas and the opportunity to tour Northstar’s vast network of nature trails with the Lift & Lunch package.  Located mid-mountain at Northstar, the Downhill Grille offers California-style fare – including some of the region’s best fish tacos at The Lodge at Big Springs.  Hike & Lunch packages are offered daily - $24 for adults and $16 for kids. 

Tahoe Star Tours lends view of Tahoe’s night sky
Offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings throughout summer from June 19 through September 4 from 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Tahoe Star Tours offer guests an unparalleled view of the Sierra Nevada’s night sky.  Enjoy a narrated astronomy presentation, view the cosmos through state-of-the-art Celestron Telescopes, and enjoy complimentary cocoa, s’mores and coffee.  Thursday and Saturday presentations are hosted at the Dark Skies Cosmoarium near The Village at Northstar; Friday presentations are hosted at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe.  Star Tours are $35 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and younger.  In addition to the regularly-scheduled Star Tours, a special Concert Star Tour is planned at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe for Friday, August 14, which coincides with the Perseid Meteor Shower.

Northstar Event Calendar
With myriad special events and weekly traditions scheduled throughout summer and fall, Northstar California invites guests to choose among bike race and running events, wine walks and Brewmaster dinners, live music performances, and beyond.  Guests can visit the Northstar event calendar to find events spanning May through October.
