Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort Announce Summer Operations

Park City, UT (May 6, 2015) –  With the 2014-15 winter season at a close, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort are gearing up for summer operations by announcing opening dates for the 2015 summer season. Park City Mountain Resort activities include one of the world’s longest alpine slides; the ZipRider and Flying Eagle Zip Line; and over 70 miles of hiking and mountain biking terrain served by three chairlifts. Canyons activities include 12 jump, flow, freeride and downhill trails at the lift-serviced bike park; Zip Tour Adventure, pedal boat rentals and trout fishing on the Alpine Lake; and Canyons’ new 18 hole golf course.
 
“Summer is an activity-filled season in Park City, and we are happy to offer an extensive choice of recreation across two mountains,” said Bill Rock, COO of Park City Mountain Resort. “The entire summer season is jam-packed with activities and special events allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery of Park City. Our mountains are the perfect destination to beat the heat and explore the outdoors through adventures for everyone.”
 
Guests who have purchased Epic Passes for the 2015-16 season will receive free access to lifts at Canyons and Park City for scenic rides. A bike haul upgrade is available for pass holders for $79 for the season, or 20 percent off.  Currently on sale for $579, the Epic Local Pass will provide access to Park City Mountain Resort, which will be combined with Canyons Resort to create the largest resort in the country at 7,300 acres for the 2015-16 season. The Epic Local Pass offers unlimited days of skiing with 11 holiday restrictions in Park City and also includes unlimited, unrestricted skiing or riding at Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado, with limited restrictions at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe. A total of 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek are also included, with holiday restrictions. Putting $49 down now will lock in the lowest guaranteed price and each pass holder will receive two discounted Buddy Tickets to use at any of the resorts.
 
New this summer season is the Canyons Golf Course, opening to the public May 29. The 18-hole, par-70 course features over 550 feet of elevation change and spectacular views of the Wasatch and Uinta mountains from almost every hole. The course encompasses 6,246 total yards.
 
In addition to a wide variety of outdoor activities, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort offer guests an incredible lineup of events, including a weekly Farmers’ Market at Canyons Resort on Wednesdays beginning June 3, the annual Saturday Summer Concert Series at Canyons and the return of The North Face Endurance Challenge Series at Park City September 26-27. 
 
The pinnacle of events this summer will be celebrating the Fourth of July weekend at Park City and Canyons. Kick off the weekend at Canyons on July 3rd with family activities in the Resort Village, special food vendors and a free concert by Salt Lake City favorite The Soulistics. Continue celebrating through the next day, Saturday July 4th, with the Park City Main Street Parade and City Park celebrations, culminating with live music and fireworks at Park City Mountain Resort.  
 
The Farm, recently named one of Utah’s Top 25 restaurants, will be open for dinner seven days a week beginning July 1, serving an innovative menu that focuses on ingredients sourced from local and regional farms and artisan purveyors. Other dining options include Red Tail Grill at Canyons, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring a redesigned menu; and Legends Bar and Grill, serving lunch seven days a week.
