Park City and Canyons Announce Spring Events Schedule
  • Snowasis returns to Park City Mountain Resort Saturday March 28-Sunday April 5
  • 8th annual Spring Grüv, which includes annual Pond Skimming Contest, hits Canyons Resort March 20-29
  • Spring Concert Series entertains the base areas at each mountain every Saturday through the end of the season
  • Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge at Park City Mountain Resort on March 14
Park City, UT (February 17, 2015) – With Spring Break right around the corner, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort announce a schedule jam-packed with events through the end of the winter season. With favorites like Pond Skimming and Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge returning to the schedule, and new family activities, events, and Easter celebrations, guests will find plenty of entertainment through spring in the mountains.

Park City’s annual spring festival, Snowasis, begins March 28 with a family-friendly carnival in the resort plaza and culminates Easter Sunday, April 5 with the Resort’s traditional all-mountain Easter Egg Hunt. The nine-day program celebrates everything about Park City Mountain Resort that makes it one of North America’s top-ranked family resorts by the most respected publications in the ski, travel and family industries. A diverse event schedule features a different activity each day, including: on-mountain scavenger hunts; live music; avalanche dog meet & greets; a movie night and more.
 
This year, Canyons celebrates spring with the 8th annual Spring Grüv festival. The 10-day festival, beginning Friday, March 20, includes activities such as Jibbin’ for Juniors and EpicMix Scavenger Hunt, free big name concerts like Keller Williams, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and The Motet, and Park City’s biggest on-snow party, Pond Skimming.  
 
Beginning February 21 at Canyons and March 7 at Park City, a free après concert will entertain guests every Saturday afternoon starting at 3pm in the base areas. The concert series include a variety of bands and musical tastes for the entire family to enjoy. Some have a regional following in the Utah area (The Patwa Reggae Band and The Motherlode Canyon Band), some are nationally renowned (Tribal Theory) and others provide an 80s theme party (The Breakfast Klub). 
 
Canyons Resort welcomes back the fan favorite Canis Lupus, a race through half a mile natural halfpipe filled with banked turns, rollers, and natural features. The brave test their limits on March 7.  Back for the fourth year in a row, Canyons and Park City are thrilled to host the Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge on Saturday, March 14 at Park City Mountain Resort. Watch top celebrities race for Operation Smile in a quest to provide surgeries for children with cleft lips and cleft palate. This race is free for spectators.
 
While all events are free and family-friendly, Park City and Canyons offer programming specifically geared for the younger generations to enjoy. At Park City, kids can enjoy their own après ski party every Saturday in Legacy Lodge while parents enjoy the après concert series. At Canyons, everyone can enjoy roasting marshmallows for s‘mores on the Umbrella Bar deck during the Sunday S’mores program.  Easter activities include Easter Egg Hunts and visits by the Easter Bunny. Other activities the kids may enjoy include magicians, balloon artists, jugglers or cowboys who entertain with rope tricks and quick draw competitions.
