A Dish Best Served Fun: Beaver Creek FOOD & WINE Weekend
Beaver Creek, Colo., Jan. 13, 2015 - Celebrity and local chefs dice up diversity, add a pinch of pristine mountain atmosphere and dish out a world-class Rocky Mountain luxury dining experience Jan. 22-25 at the fourth-annual Beaver Creek FOOD & WINE Weekend, presented by Audi.
Alpine enthusiasts and inquisitive foodies will pick and choose from a multitude of on mountain adventure, expertly paired with four days of interactive cooking demonstrations, innovative après events, and succulent selections of four-course cuisine. This year the resort is proud to announce its newly themed Wine Dinner and Line Dancing soiree at SaddleRidge with guest chef Tim Love. Also with a new theme, the Mules & Manhattans event, where guests must speak the protected password to gain entry in true speakeasy fashion.
“Interaction between our chefs and guests is a crucial part of the experience for the weekend,” said Cat Coughran, sponsorships and events director for Beaver Creek Resort Company. “Guests will actively learn how dishes are prepared, sampling technique and avant-garde recipes from the best in the business.” Coughran wants people to “enjoy themselves and take something home with them, a new recipe or idea that will spice up their own culinary endeavors. The uniqueness of this event is that guests can pick and choose from events that excite their palate.”
Beaver Creek’s FOOD & WINE Weekend begins with the Meet the Chefs Reception, where food lovers mix and mingle with this year’s celebrity chefs, enjoy hors d’oeuvres prepared by local chef talent, and sample wine, spirit and beer libations.
Patrons embark on a secluded and snowshoe tour at McCoy Park with guides from the Nordic Sports Center on Friday morning. Snowshoers will work up their appetites and return to Grouse Mountain Grill for a multi-course lunch, complete with wine pairings and prepared by FOOD & WINE Best New Chef Viet Pham. Follow up lunch with the much-anticipated Mules & Manhattans, hosted by mixologist Jason Patz. Guests can then enjoy the Wine Dinner and Line Dancing at SaddleRidge with Tim Love. Explore western artifacts meticulously procured for SaddleRidge - including Geronimo’s tomahawk and General Custer’s canteen and one of his hats - before sampling signature Texan cuisine and shakin’ it with live music and seasoned line dancing specialists. The Gourmet Wine Dinner at Splendido is an alternative for guests who plan to sample Chef Alex Seidel’s culinary wizardry.
Saturday features the Ski.Eat.Ski event with Chef Matt McCallister. Tackle the mountain and discover Beaver Creek’s best kept secrets with a highly-trained instructor. Indulge in a spectacular interactive Cooking Demonstration & Lunch with Top Chef winner Nicholas Elmi. Follow both events with Après-Ski Burgers & Beers, with Beaver Creek’s top local talent. Don’t miss Saturday night’s Grand Tasting, the premier weekend celebration offering the ultimate tasting experience. On Sunday, guests can join chef teams as they take their talent to the slopes for a head-to-head ski race during the Celebrity Chef Ski Race & Brunch.
