Mountain Experience Series to Showcase Keystone Resort
Two Weekends of Free Clinics, Events, Discounted Lodging

Keystone, Colo. — Dec. 2, 2014 — In an effort to conveniently showcase the sports of skiing and snowboarding to those new to the state, or perhaps not yet engaged in Colorado’s favorite winter pastimes, Keystone Resort introduces the 2014-15 Keystone Mountain Experience Series. Featuring free clinics, discounted lift tickets, rental promotions and special lodging rates, the two-part event series will be the perfect introduction to mountain snow sports and/or Keystone.

As one of the closest all-inclusive resorts to Denver, Keystone is the ultimate location for families to enjoy the allure of the mountains; be it on skis, snowboards, ice skates, snow tubes or horse-drawn sleigh rides. The introduction to Keystone’s mountain of possibilities begins Dec. 13-14, 2014 with Get to Know Keystone Days, a hands-on, family-friendly weekend providing an intimate introduction to the resort with activities for both children and adults.

Keystone’s Ski&Ride School will provide complimentary one hour clinics Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for first-timers or guests looking to hone their skiing or riding skills. Participants in the free, hour-long sessions must be at least 11-years-old. Simultaneously, hour-long sessions at the Keystone Snow Fort will provide a place where children of any age can play in the snow and on the fort’s multiple slides and many special features, as well as  meet Keystone mascot Ripperoo and Keystone’s avy dog team – supervision will be provided free of charge by Keystone’s Ski&Ride School professionals. Guests can meet for these activities atop Dercum Mountain.

Get to Know Keystone Days also marks the grand opening of Keystone’s season-long Kidtopia programming, highlighted Saturday with the ribbon-cutting of the Kidtopia Snow Fort at 12:30 p.m. and the first weekly fireworks display of the season at 7 p.m. Additional weekend Kidtopia fun includes a Bigfoot Adventure Walk, appearances by Santa Claus, Ripperoo’s Parade in River Run, Cookie Hour at the Dercum Square Ice Rink, and free face painting.

The Keystone Mountain Experience Series continues Jan. 31-Feb. 1, 2015 with the Burton Experience Snowboard Tour, a weekend full of free clinics, demos, activities and live entertainment. Free, hour-long snowboarding clinics for anyone ages 3-and-older will be available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Mountain House base area on Saturday and Sunday. This family-friendly weekend will feature women’s only clinics, professional Burton athletes, and live music.

In support of the Keystone Mountain Experience Series, discounted adult lift tickets will be available for $59 and rental equipment will be discounted 30 percent. Families can enjoy the entire weekend’s festivities with nearly 800 units offering varying amenities, sizes and exceptional value. Discounted lodging packages will be available at select accommodations.
