New Santa’s Workshop and 34th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony Ignite Holiday Celebrations In Beaver Creek Friday, Nov. 28
Beaver Creek, Colo., Nov. 25, 2014 –The 34th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and the new Santa’s Workshop will symbolize the commencement of the holiday season with a spirited afternoon in Beaver Creek Village this Friday, Nov. 28. New this year, Santa’s Workshop will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. in Ford Hall sponsored by Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa. This one-stop-holiday-shop for kids of all ages provides holiday cookies to decorate, gifts to create and holiday theme arts and crafts. Food and beverage will be available for purchase from the all-new Powder 8 Kitchen & Tap. Santa’s schedule for the evening includes photos with kids from 4 to 5 p.m. in Santa’s Workshop in Ford Hall, then he’ll visit the Tree Lighting Ceremony and lastly return to Ford Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. for additional photo opportunities.

The annual tree lighting ceremony of the 38-foot tall tree in Beaver Creek Plaza also includes live performances from Denver-based Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel and Nashville recording artist, Christie Huff. The Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel is a 10 member performing group that leaves audiences captivated with their exciting gospel renditions. Christie Huff is a fun, bubbly country artist originally from Arizona, with her first album titled, Sweet Love to Come Home To, and her noted “Soldier Song.”  The Tree Lighting Ceremony also features the winner of the kids’ holiday poetry contest and a visit from Santa before the grand fireworks finale. This free family event is a holiday favorite not to miss.

Tree Lighting and Santa’s Workshop Schedule for Nov. 28:

4- 8 p.m.                Santa’s Workshop - free family holiday arts and crafts and photos with Santa and Santa’s helpers in Ford Hall. Santa is available for photos before and after the tree lighting from 4 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.

5 p.m.                    Figure Skating Show on Beaver Creek Village Ice Rink.

6 p.m.                    Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring the Alpenhorn Chorus, the Colorado Ambassadors of Gospel, Nashville recording artist Christie Huff, kids’ poetry contest winner introduction and reading and Santa’s appearance.                                 

6:30 p.m.               Fireworks show (time is approximate.)
