First 'Epic Mountain Gear Store' Opens in Frisco Tomorrow
Broomfield, Colo. -- November 25, 2014 -- Vail Resorts, Inc. opens its first retail store aligned specifically with its iconic Epic brand -- Epic Mountain Gear – on Nov. 26 at 8am in Frisco, Colo. The new flagship store brings the Epic brand to life with its re-imagined mountain retail experience. The 10,000 sq. ft. store redefines mountain retail by creating a gateway to mountain recreation with high-end gear, customized rental services and high-end clothing.
Specialized and luxury brands such as Stockli, Kjus and Mountain Force are partners in another unique aspect of this fresh retail concept. Each month, a different vendor will showcase their newest products, technology innovations and emerging styles and designs in the rotating Vendor’s Lab. Burton launches the revolving vendor concept beginning opening day by featuring their AK Collection with front-of-store positioning through Dec. 21.
Information junkies will gravitate to the soon-to-be installed and strategically positioned electronic information screens with up-to-the-hour weather conditions, snow conditions, trail openings, special events, and traffic updates that are easily visible throughout the store. The dynamic and constantly updated information will assist shoppers in anticipating and preparing for their time on the slopes.
Even the equipment rental service gets the Epic treatment in this shop. Plush chairs rather than the typical narrow benches seen in most rental facilities will allow skiers and riders to relax comfortably until their rental gear is brought directly to them for fitting and adjustments.
