Breck Summer Fun Park Opens June 13

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo., - June 5, 2014– Summer officially arrives at Breckenridge Ski Resort with the opening of the Breck Summer Fun Parkon Friday, June 13 at the base of Peak 8. Uniquely situated on the slopes and easily accessed via the free BreckConnect Gondola, the Breck Summer Fun Park features activities for all ages, including the Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Superslide, Breck Treks guided hikes, 4X4 off-road tours, off-road Segway tours, a climbing wall, mini golf and more. New this summer: scenic chair rides and access to hiking and mountain biking will be located on Peak 7 via the Independence SuperChair.
 
Starting June 13, the Breck Summer Fun Park will operate from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. through Sept. 1; then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundaysonly through September 14. Free parking is available for guests in the Gondola North parking lot. Service to the Fun Park via the BreckConnect Gondola or shuttle buses on the black route is also free and will begin starting Friday, June 13 at 9 a.m.
 
Due to current snow conditions, mountain biking programs and Segway tours will open at later date; hiking programs and 4x4 off-road tours will be limited. On-Mountain Dining
Fun Park visitors can enjoy dining during the day on the spectacular Ski Hill Grill patio conveniently located at One Ski Hill Place at the base of the Fun Park.  In addition, the T-Bar next door will be open daily June 13 – Sept 1, from 11 a.m. until the gondola closes. Sevens restaurant on Peak 7 will also be open daily from 11 a.m. -10 p.m. beginning June 13.
 
Summer Kick-Off Events
Kingdom Days, June 14-15, brings a robust lineup of free activities including blacksmithing demos, gold panning, historic hikes and more. The annual Outhouse Races, the centerpiece of the weekend, showcases competitors rolling down Ridge Street to vie for the Gold Throne, Silver Moon or Bronze Bucket awards. “Open House on History” tours of Breckenridge historic sites are FREE during Kingdom Days – explore the house of an escaped slave-turned-prominent businessman, pan for gold and much more.
