BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 15, 2014 —With over a foot of new snow falling in Breckenridge since Sunday - and more in the forecast - spring skiing is at its best as Breck’s Spring Fever Festival enters a fourth week of events, offering more of the Bud Light Concert Series and plenty of Easter festivities!

The Bud Light Concert Series continues on Friday and Saturday with two festival powerhouses: Colorado’s Yonder Mountain String Band on April 18 and Blues Traveler on April 19 to close out the concert series for the season. Both shows are free to the public and the entertainment is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on a specially-constructed stage facing One Ski Hill Place, a RockResort, at the base of Peak 8.

Sunday will be a family-filled day of Easter events, starting with a sunrise service on Peak 9, then an on-mountain Easter egg hunt on Peaks 8 and 9.  This year, Breck is using compostable Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt and a new prize redemption process will help reduce waste by making sure fewer eggshells and candy wrappers are left on the mountain.

The full line-up of this week’s Spring Fever events is as follows:

Friday, April 18
Final First Tracks Friday!
Stay with us to take advantage of the season’s last First Tracks Friday program.  Guests staying at the Official Lodging Properties of Breckenridge Ski Resort (Mountain Thunder Lodge, The DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge, One Ski Hill Place, Crystal Peak Lodge, and The Village at Breckenridge) will enjoy access to the mountain via the Beaver Run Superchair one hour before lifts open to the public. The Final “5 ‘til 5” Terrain Park Happy Hour
Park skiers and riders can soak up a few more laps during the final “5 ‘til 5” Happy Hour from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. this Friday. The 5 Chair will run until 5 p.m., giving extra access to some great spring park laps, music and free hot dogs! Skiers and riders can compete in jam style contest to win season passes and other great prizes. Test out your skills and get ready for some fun in the sun!

Yonder Mountain String Band in Concert on Peak 8; 2 p.m.
The Colorado-based foursome has always played music by its own set of rules.  Bending bluegrass, rock and countless other influences that the band cites, Yonder has pioneered a sound of their own.  With their traditional lineup of instruments, the band may look like a traditional bluegrass band at first glance, but they’ve created their own music that transcends any genre.

Saturday, April 19
Blues Traveler in Concert on Peak 8; 2 p.m.
Blues Traveler has released a total of nine studio albums, four of which have gone gold, three platinum and one six-times platinum. Over the course of their illustrious career, Blues Traveler has sold more than ten million combined units worldwide, played over 2,000 live shows in front of more than 30 million people, and in “Run-Around,” had the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history, which earned them a Grammy® for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

Sunday, April 20
Sunrise Easter Service at TenMile Station; 6:30 a.m.
Join visitors and locals for an Easter service in one of the most spectacular settings on Earth! At 6 a.m. on Easter Sunday, load the Quicksilver lift on Peak 9 up to a special location at 10,000’ for this free sunrise service. No lift ticket is required; however, ski equipment will not be allowed up the chair. Coffee and pastries will be available for purchase on location at TenMile Station (and don’t forget to dress warmly for the chair ride!).

Giant On-Mountain Easter Egg Hunt; 9 a.m. until eggs are gone!
You’ll want to ski with your Easter basket in hand this Sunday!  Hunt for prizes among the 8,000 eco-friendly Easter eggs on Peak 8 and Peak 9, spread out primarily on green runs. New this year, we are aligning our egg hunt with a more environmentally conscious approach. Our eggs will be made of non-toxic plastic, 100 percent renewable plant resources, which make them compostable.  In addition, less energy was used and less waste was emitted in their production process.

Also, NEW this year, the eggs will NOT contain candy, as they often pop open and leave trash and shards across the mountain. Instead collect your eggs, bring them to the prize redemption tent, located in the base of Peak 8, and exchange them for various options of a baked treats, a little bag of candy, and more! Some eggs will contain special coupons, which mean you could still win big! Get to the mountain early, as the eggs get collected very quickly.

Breck Spring Fever is presented by Breckenridge Ski Resort, Bud Light, Mountain Dew and Red Bull.  Associate partners include GoPro, Helly Hansen and Sprint.
