BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. —March 29, 2014 – A star-studded field of snowboard legends and current pros showed up today for the third annual Mountain Dew Throwback Throwdown at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Current Pros Benji Farrow and Michelle Zeller took the overall top spots in the men’s and women’s divisions, while lege  nds Chad Otterstrom, Ross Powers and Todd Franzen won Raddest Old Dude, Mountain Dew Method Meyham and Best Hand Plant honors, respectively.

Today’s competition awarded over$17,000 in prize money for those willing to take on a two-fold challenge: competing in Freeway’s 22-foot superpipe, then a specially constructed six-foot mini-pipe - an exact replica of the first one built at Breck in 1986. Tricks no more than 540 degrees of rotation were allowed, so each rider could be creative with straight airs, alley oops, huge slow spins and hand plants.  The field of riders also included Breck pros JJ Thomas, Zack Black and Jake Black, along with legends Steve Link and Chris Pappas.

This year’s event is part of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s month-long Spring Fever Festival  which continues through closing day, April 27th. Breck Spring Fever is presented by Bud Light, Mountain Dew and Red Bull.  Associate partners include GoPro, Helly Hansen, The DoubleTree by Hilton, Breckenridge and Sprint.
