Beaver Creek’s 3rd Annual PrezFest Returns with New Interactive Ice Sculptures, President-For-A-Day Contest and Parades
Beaver Creek, Colo., Feb. 11, 2014 – Beaver Creek Resort presents the 3rd annual PrezFest celebration this President’s Day week as part of the popular family program, Beaver Creek Loves Kids. PrezFest will take place from Feb. 15- 21, 2014 and will combine all things “Americana” with a magical winter wonderland. The new “Scenes of America” Ice Exhibit will feature three interactive ice sculptures depicting iconic scenes in American history. Guests can sit behind the Oval Office Desk, climb in the boat with George Washingtoncrossing the Delaware River and add their faces to Mount Rushmore. Ice sculptures will be located throughout Beaver Creek Village. Guests can cast their votes to elect the People’s Choice Award for “Most Patriotic Ice Sculpture” on Saturday, Feb. 15from 3-5 p.m. in the village.
Parents are encouraged to nominate their children to be President of Beaver Creek for a day by posting a photo of their child 14 years or younger on the Beaver Creek Facebook page and explain why he or she should be President of Beaver Creek. Posting begins Friday, Feb. 14 at 12 p.m. and ends Sunday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. The post with the most “likes” will serve as President-For-A-Day. The President, his or her chosen Vice President and the “First Family” will experience presidential treatment on and off the mountain for the day on Monday, Feb 17.
After skiing and riding the slopes of Beaver Creek mountain the fun continues in Beaver Creek Village where Beaver Creek will host historical characters on the Plaza along with a parade at 4 p.m. Saturday-Monday. There will also be a Family Funfest Carnival on Saturday, Feb. 15. InteractiveStorytellers, a Disco Skate Night and Drums on the Mountains are additional events that will take place throughout the week.
