Keystone Resort Celebrates the Holiday Week with Expanded Terrain and Night Skiing
KEYSTONE, Colo. — Nov. 27, 2013— Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 27 Keystone Resort will increase skiable terrain to 291 acres across 27 trails accessed via 13 lifts. On top of the terrain expansion the Summit County, CO resort will also open its night ski operation allowing ski and snowboard enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the longest ski day in Colorado with 3,128 vertical feet of terrain under the lights. An array of on-and-off mountain activities will also be available including snow tubing, ice skating and mountaintop scenic snow cat tours just in time for guests who wish to spend a snow-filled Thanksgiving Holiday in the mountains.

For those venturing to Keystone, the increase in terrain will grant skiers and riders access to a range of blue and green trails across Dercum Peak as well as access to the Discovery Learning Area at the Mountain House Base Area. The progressive learning area will be readily available for beginners and Ski and Ride School participants and the A51 terrain park will officially move to its main winter home allowing skiers and riders the chance to hit features in The Alley and lower Park Lane with access to the A51 chairlift for quick laps.

For families wanting to enjoy other winter activities, the Adventure Point tubing hill will officially open Wednesday with three lanes for zooming down as well as convenient uphill access via the covered conveyor lift. On top of snow tubing, mountaintop scenic snow cat tours and ice skating at Dercum Square and Lakeside Village ice rink will also be available for those looking for other adventurous activities.

For visitors wanting to grab a quick snack or lunch on-mountain both the Summit House and the Mountain House will be offering quick-serve meal options and the 9280’  Tap House will be featuring great après drink and food specials for post-ski enjoyment.

Special Thanksgiving Day meals will be available at a collection of Keystone’s signature dining outlets including the Bighorn Bistro & Bar, the Ski Tip, Keystone Ranch, Black Bear Grill and the Alpenglow Stube for families and friends wanting to gather around the Holiday table without all the work.

Moving into the Holiday weekend, special activities will kick-off Nov. 30 with Keystone’s Tree Lighting Ceremony in the heart of River Run Village. The evening celebration will also include carolers, an appearance by Santa and his reindeer followed by the Welcome Winter Family Carnival.

Don’t forget Keystone’s signature Kids Ski Free program works even over the Holidays offering kids 12 and under free skiing and riding with any two or more nights stay at Keystone’s array of accommodation options.
