The 33rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and 11th Annual Gingerbread Competition Kick Start the Holidays in Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek, Colorado, Nov. 25, 2013 –The 33rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and the 11th Annual Gingerbread Competition at Beaver Creek mark the beginning of the holiday season on Friday, Nov. 29. The event features a full evening of festivities including the traditional lighting of the 38-foot tall tree, musical talent from all over Colorado, a kids’ holiday poetry contest and reading, visit from Santa, fireworks display, and the Gingerbread Competition with silent auction. New this year VIP Preview tickets are available to see the gingerbread creations from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tickets are $5 per person and are limited on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 75 people. Embellished gingerbread creations will be on display for the Gingerbread Competition in the Gerald R. Ford Hall at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and 100 percent of the silent auction and Holiday Market proceeds will go to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a local organization serving children in Eagle, Summit, Lake and Clear Creek counties.
The evening also includes the Public Athlete Bib Presentation for the ladies’ Raptor World Cup Super G races taking place on Saturday November 30.

6:00 p.m. Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring Alpenhorn Chorus, the Colorado Children’s Chorale, Nashville recording artist Christie Huff and Opera Colorado. Kids’ poetry contest winner introduction and reading. Santa will make his appearance.
6:20 p.m. The Ladies’ Public Pick Bib Presentation will take place on Beaver Creek Village Ice Rink.
6:50 p.m. Fireworks show.
8:00 p.m. Warren Miller’s new ski film, “Ticket To Ride”, at the
