  • Vail reports 52 inches of snowfall year-to-date

BROOMFIELD, Colo.– Nov. 19, 2013– Nov. 24, 2013 is the last chance for skiers and riders to get the most flexible, popular season pass in the worldwide snow sports industry – The Epic Pass – for the 2013-2014 winter season.  Sold in all 50 U.S. states and 80 countries across the globe, the Epic Pass gives skiers and riders access to 26 iconic mountains in four countries, including unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding atVail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Eldora in Colorado; Canyons in Park City, Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe; Afton Alps in Minnesota and Mt. Brighton in Michigan; five free days at Verbier, Switzerland; five consecutive free days at Arlberg, Austria; and five free days at Les 3 Vallées, France. Vail Resorts is offering the industry’s best-selling season pass at $729 for adults and $379 for children (ages 5-12).

“There are a number of reasons why the Epic Pass is skiing and snowboarding’s most popular season pass,” said Kirsten Lynch, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Vail Resorts. “It starts with access to 26 of the world’s most iconic mountains in four countries, then there’s the unprecedented amount of on-mountain improvements across our resorts for the upcoming season, the commitment to service excellence across all of our guest touch points, amazing technology with EpicMix and cool promotions like the Epic Race, all at an incredibly compelling price point. With 52 inches of snow having already fallen in Vail so far this year, and with snow falling at all our resorts this week, there couldn’t be a better time to purchase this year’s season pass.”

In addition to adding Canyons to the Epic Pass line-up, Vail Resorts has poured $130-140 million back into the guest experience across its 10 resorts. Breckenridge will open Peak 6 later this winter, increasing the resort’s skiable acreage by 23 percent, or 543 acres. Peak 6 represents the most significant terrain expansion at a North American ski resort since the opening of Blue Sky Basin at Vail. Vail Mountain is adding a new high-speed six-person lift in Mid-Vail to get guests into the Back Bowls faster and Beaver Creek is opening a new on-mountain restaurant at the base of Beaver Creek’s famed Birds of Prey race course. And then there’s the fourth generation of EpicMix – EpicMix Academy – which offers a unique way for guests to earn and share their accomplishments in Vail Resorts’ world-class ski and ride schools.

The Epic Race is a season-long competition beginning Nov. 22, 2013, to visit all 26 resorts spread across four countries that make up the Epic Pass. The reward: The first 10 participants to complete the adventure win a lifetime Epic Pass. Registration for the Epic Race is closed, but onlookers can follow the #EpicRace on Twitter, FacebookYouTube and at www.epicrace.epicpass.com.
