Back to the Grind Rail Jam Returns to Keystone Resort
KEYSTONE, Colo. — Nov. 12, 2013 —Keystone Resort’s A51 Terrain Parkis back with the second rail jam of the season, Back to the Grind, Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Summit County resort. Following on the heels of the successful Backyard BBQ and Rail Jam, Back to the Grind will give skiers and riders the chance to jib their way to the top of the podium, with the chance to win huge prizes. Spectators will enjoy a fun evening featuring live music, giveaways, and plenty of under-the-lights action. Skiers and riders will take on a multi-rail feature on Keystone’s River Run face, adjacent to the Summit Express chairlift just outside the resort’s River Run Village. The competition will get underway at 3:30 p.m. and will continue as the sun sets into the late afternoon. Spectators can enjoy the high-energy action from great vantage points on-snow, the perfect end to another great day on the mountain.
 
Keystone opened for the season Nov. 1 and is now offering more than 100 acres of skiable terrain, including top-to-bottom skiing on the Spring Dipper and River Run trails. Beginners can enjoy the resort’s signature cruiser, Schoolmarm, with access to the Montezuma lift. Those looking to get in on the jibbing action can check out more than 20 features in A51’s mountaintop early season terrain park on the trail Scout, with easy lapping via the Ranger lift.
 
After taking advantage of the great early-season conditions as well as the progressive features in the early season park, skiers and riders can register to participate in the Saturday, Nov. 16 Back to the Grind rail jam that will begin at Noon with participant check-in and registration running until 3 p.m. The official event will start promptly at 3:30 p.m. on a multi-rail feature located at the base of the River Run face adjacent to the Summit Express chairlift.

3:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. Women’s Skiing
3:55 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Men’s Skiing
4:20 p.m. – 4:40 p.m.  Women’s Snowboarding
4:45 p.m. – 5:05 p.m.  Men’s Snowboarding 

Finals
5:15 p.m. – 5:35 p.m.  Women’s Skiing 
5:40 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Men’s Skiing
6:05 p.m. – 6:25 p.m.  Women’s Snowboarding
6:30 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.  Men’s Snowboarding 
 
 Winners in both men’s and women’s snowboard and skiing categories will take home cash prizes, a new snowboard or a Keystone A-Basin Season Pass.
 
Spectators can jam out to tunes by DJ DC, snag sweet crowd giveaways from companies such as Candy Grind and Qdoba as well as check-out the latest gear at vendor tents.
 
Following the rail jam, spectators and participants can head over to Warren Station Center for the Arts located in River Run Village to catch a documentary about the life of Shane McConkey, one of the most legendary and groundbreaking freeskiers in the industry. Presented by Matchstick Productions, the film “McConkey” is a heartfelt examination of the legacy one athlete left to the progression of his sport and the path he paved to conquer his dreams. For those guests looking to make a last minute decision about where to ski/ride, Keystone has
introduced one-day advance purchase lift tickets online. New this season, snow enthusiasts
may purchase lift tickets at Keystonetickets.com just one day before heading to the mountain.
One-Day Peaks Advanced tickets will be available every day, all season long, offering up to 25% savings off window-rate tickets.
